I have to be honest. I find pixel art to be so hard. Sure it is simple but to be good at it I find it so hard to look good. But I adore the look of pixel art. Since I have started using pixel art I started to love it more and more. I love the striking character designs from games like BlazeBlue and UnderNight, I also love the gorgeous worlds from stuff like Order of Ecclessia and Legend of Mana. There really is no limits to pixel art as a medium and a person can really find a style using it
funny that this Video got suggested to me from Ytb. I actually grew up with pixel art but eventually lost touch with it until I started Stardew Valley a few days ago. And that showed me after all these years how much I really like pixel games and that such games should be given a chance. There is such a beautiful kind of art behind it, I'm glad that the market continues to grow with this kind of games, like Witchbrook it's really good looking and I'm hyped for the release :) also good work keep it up you got a sub from me ^^
Anybody that says pixel art should have gone away with the Gameboy is objectively wrong and I will fight them about it. >:} Which is not to say that everybody has to like it, but it clearly fills a niche - and I like to remind people that cubism exists in the fine art realm, as a close parallel. Lastly, just because it's simple doesn't mean that there aren't artistic techniques that must be mastered, and I'll go so far as to say that good looking pixel art can be much more impressive as a skill than simply making "realistic" 3D materials. I'm honestly contemplating making a pixel art shader for the 3D game that I'm working on right now just 'cause I like it that much but it would seriously delay my progress if I had to go back and rejigger everything to be 2D and then learn how to make pixel art.
Pixel art isn't meant to look good. It is just gameplay graphics, that's it. It doesn't matter how much effort is put on a pixel art piece, hand drawn/3D models will always reign superior and that's facts. I don't hate pixel art, I just know what looks good and what doesn't. Pixel art is definitely not a good choice for cozy games. I look at stardew valley and all indie pixel art games and they look like sh** to me. lol.

Same, it's crazy how pixel art seems like it should be easy, but then it's so hard to get just right :)

I enjoy a good looking pixel art game. Reminds me of childhood
True dat. Pixel Art is such a great way to get into game dev with limited artistic skills and still create something stunning!
Agreed!
You’re an amazing lady! I really like your artwork too!
Thanks so much! :)
Love your vids! I'm (FlamiDev😉) using pixel art for my game too, I'm not as good as you 😉 but it can look really great and you master it 😊!
Oh hi! :) Thanks so much!!
because it’s simple, easy to do, and appealing, i prefer 3d though
