This and the following videos are absolutely fantastic! Thanks for taking the time to give thorough and clear explanations.
I’m looking forward to my second build and hopefully will be able to emulate your approach.
Thanks again from the UK, Matt

Wow this is really helpful. Its surpsingly hard to find any videos on TH-cam about hand sanding or doing it with a block. Most people are using tools/Sanders.

I like to make the final inspection for sanding scratches outside on a sunny day with a magnifying glass. Natural light reveals all.

Thank for sharing your experience on your channel!
Quick question - if you are working on a veneer top, should you still start with 120 grit? I keep hearing about people sanding through the veneer.

I wouldn't sand with anything coarser than 320 grit.

Love the video! Can you comment further on sanding the sides of the guitar? By sanding in only one direction, do you start at the top and work your way all the way around to the other side of the top of the guitar? Or do you start at the top (one one horn), sand in one direction to the bottom of the guitar, then start on the other horn and sand in that direction until you meet the bottom?

I never gave it any thought. I just grab my sandpaper and go at it. Start in any spot and work your way around until you get back to where you started.

The reason why I sanded to 400 thats easy I am trying to build up the nerve to start the painting.
