- As we post this, the United States of America is celebrating its founding with our annual summer holiday - Independence Day! We join the celebration by sharing our recent tour of the American Revolution Museum in Yorktown, Virginia. You may remember the story from history class - but this museum brings it to life through artifacts, interactive exhibits and even a 4-D movie experience. And when you have seen everything in the museum, your day in Yorktown isn't over as a number of aspects of the Revolutionary War are demonstrated outside on the grounds of the museum. Check out this video to see history come to life in Virginia's historic triangle (including the historically important attractions found in Jamestown, Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg). We hope you have/had a happy and safe Fourth of July!

That looks like a fun place to visit, we've been to Saratoga many times and it doesn't have a museum like Yorktown at all. Such a fascinating museum with so many interesting displays. I really like how they create a believable environment to bring you back in time. The gift shop had lots of cool items. Hope you had a grear 4th. We took it easy. went to the movies and hung out at the house. We did go hiking the day before, though. Was a great weekend.
We definitely want to spend time in Yorktown. It’s so pristine and just so full of history. Love this museum.

Hi Alice and Jack! This was so cool! We went to the Yorktown Battlefield National park site, but didn't go here. This was really cool, my boys would have loved to take a picture with the musket :)
This museum really goes well with a visit to the Yorktown Battlefield. Together, they tell the whole story in detail. Posing with the musket was really cool. We loved the historic interpreters talking about what life was like in the Revolutionary War. Hope your family gets to check this place out if you are ever back in Yorktown someday. What a great Museum. Those Colonists were brutal! Dress Ups! I'm in! 😆 Yes, there uniforms were heavy! Imagine the hot weather 🥵 Love the outdoor quarters. I agree, run away from the medical surgeons 🤣 Great Farm and Farmhouse and guide interpreting daily life. A great place to explore and visit. I didn't know this museum even existed! Yorktown, Williamsburg, Jamestown - that whole area is on my bucket list. Fantastic museum, especially love the outdoors exhibits, although the whole museum looks like it's done so well. (The chicken/cat interaction would have had my attention!). Great video of a museum I'd love to see.

Party like its 1776! Woo hoo! What a perfect video for independence day. Love seeing all of the indoor and outdoor exhibits. Love seeing the old uniforms, cool you could try them on and get a photo! The sword replicas are so neat, and seeing the comparisons between them. So neat seeing the soldier's tents and captains quarters. Cool to see the musket demonstrations. Cool to see them prepare a period themed meal. Love the chicken attempting to interact with the cat hahaha so funny. We love visiting places like this. Thanks for sharing with us! :)

Yes Happy Independence guys! Great museum to check out the history of the American revolution! I've seen those tents on war movies 🙂 love all the period costumes and the weapons they used. Enjoyed watching guys!
What great timing for this video. This place looks amazing especially it has an indoor and outdoor area. Isn’t it crazy that this was only a few generations before. Love all the folks dressed up. I bet they will be saying the same thing about our medical profession. Rosalie would like the gift shop.
We have been here and really enjoyed it! We definitely need to go back after seeing your video. So much to see and do there. I don’t remember picking up the swords. That’s so neat! We really enjoyed the outdoor area. It was so hot the day we were there. Great job on this video!!!

What a perfect day to release this video! The photos in the outfits would be fun, of course I doubt my fam would be into it! Love that there is a cat and chicken at the farm house! Even though the slavery house is sad, it’s good to not forget that part of history and hope we don’t repeat it! Great tour!
