“It’s Mr. Lightyear to them, not to you though Vinnie,” Buzz mutters, rubbing his thumb across his knuckles soothingly.
Vinnie couldn’t help the blush that spread across his face. This blind date might’ve been the best thing that’s ever happened to him, and it hasn’t even really started yet. The food was taking longer than expected and the waiters were stressed and in a bad mood. Yet that didn’t matter, not at all.
He was only focused on the man in front of him. Buzz Lightyear.
He’s never seen anyone like Buzz in all of his years; His chiseled jawline, his deep and smooth voice that made it hard for him to resist, his words calm yet confident, the big and veiny hand that held his across the table, even his astronaut helmet that he had on previously.
Vinnie had always loved a man in a suit.
And Buzz was no exception.
Buzz cleared his throat, making Vinnie snap out of his dazed state. Flushed and embarrassed beyond belief he quickly looked away and took a sip of his water. He was thirsty for something else though and he was sure he had made it obvious at this point (much to his embarrassment). He sets his glass of water down and catches Buzz’s darkening gaze from across the table.
They keep eye contact for what feels like centuries to Vinnie, and the strange fact was that he didn’t mind it at all. Though only seconds pass, and what Buzz says next leaves Vinnie damn near speechless in his seat, “Let me take you to infinity and beyond.”
All it took was a stuttered ‘yes’ and he was immediately being dragged out of the restaurant. Needless to say, Vinnie had the best night of his life.
