Okay, I know everyone’s been giving advice to you guys, but I’m gonna compact everything into a list just for convenience’s sake. (You guys may already know this, but this is for the ones who don’t)
1. Try not to take your puppies out before they get all their shots.
2. Please don’t buy from a pet store. You’re not saving any dog, I promise. The dogs from pet stores come from puppy mills, which have absolutely disgusting and terrifying conditions. The puppies born there also have many health defects. THE PUPPIES NOT BOUGHT IN THESE SHOPS WILL BE SENT TO SHELTERS, WHERE YOU CAN ADOPT THEM WITHOUT GIVING PROFIT TO PUPPY MILLS.
3. Please adopt from a municipal shelter, or buy from a reputable breeder.
4. I would recommend taking Luna to puppy training classes- Australian Shepards are quite the handful and it’s great to have a professional’s help.
Again, I’m not trying to bash you guys, I just want to spread information so the cycle of puppy mills stops. Have a good one!

My friends dog and my dog did not liked each other either. And we took them out to walk so they wont meet at each others territory. And Luna will soon learn that Mahea is older than her, so everytime Meha tries to bark at Luna it’s just a way of expressing their feelings. Congrats for you new bby!❤️

If youre not able to get a dog from a shelter please get one from a reputable breeder and not a shop like this
These dogs are from puppy farms and mills where the condition they are bred in are terrible and the mothers are also often used like a factory to just keep having babies
This is no hate to you guys, a lot of people are unaware of how these puppies come into the world, its just to let you know so if you do buy a dog in the future rather than adopting you know exactly the background theyre coming from and dont unknowingly support a bad industry

I was just about to comment this, but then I saw ur comment and well said. All my dogs are adopted and they are amazing I have hade them for 14 years, this dogs that people buy for these stores come from horrible puppy mills and breeding situations. Adopt don’t shop 🕊🕊🕊.
But... Don't every puppy needs an owner? I think even puppies from this shops need someone. It's not like the puppies did anything wrong. They also need love and affection

FYI to viewers, adopting from responsible breeders is always fine as an alternative to shelters when looking for specific breeds! The issue is buying from stores and shops because they almost ALWAYS buy from and support puppy mills

As someone who lives in Jax I can also vouch for what Kayla said about the only dogs available in our shelters being pit bulls and the apartment complexes here don’t allow them 😔. But yeah pet stores...are NOT okay. Puppy mills are disgusting. Responsible breeders only!

how do you know if they are responsible breeders. I have also been looking for an aussie and I want to make sure it comes from a place not just pumping them out for money not caring about their health
Jane Doe the best way is to visit the breeder in person if you can and see where the mom and dad are kept and how puppies are raised. On Facebook, they make pages for breeds now (for example I’m part of a Dalmatian fb group) and when you join you can ask around for a good referral in your state. A lot of breeders these days also have Facebook pages or Instagram where they’re very transparent with the living arrangements of the puppers. I’d google breeder for the breed you’re looking for in your state, and then see if they have a fb page. Reddit is also an excellent place, they have an Australian Shepard subreddit and you can make a post requesting a referral for a responsible breeder in your area. The best part is that you get to go in person and pick out a puppy out of a pile of puppies. The entire experience from start to finish is supposed to be really fun and personal! You can also check this site marketplace.akc.org/puppies/australian-shepherd, and when you find one you just look up like I said their fb and see if you can find testimonials. Sorry this is so long! Australian shepherds are extremely high energy, not just when they're puppies, but until they're seniors! They're "job dogs", meaning they have to have a job to do to keep them busy and happy. This could be teaching them tons of fun tricks or playing ball with them throughout the day! Either way, they thrive best on hours of activities per day to keep them healthy and happy! However, despite the high energy, they gain weight like crazy! Because of this, dog foods such as blue buffalo which are high in nutrients but light on the tummy will help keep Luna healthy, full, and able to play all day without putting on the weight

Highly suggest taking Luna to puppy school since you guys now have an energetic dog that will grow big and both of you got only little experience with dogs. You will get lots of valuable training info from puppy school and can ask anything from the professional trainers if you have any problems at home. It’s definitely worth it!
I saw someone say to introduce them outside or something j think that would be a good idea. But slowly bring them together. You don’t want them to be aggressive towards eachother or protective of a place so yes slow is really the way to go.
I got an Australian Shepherd 6 months ago! She’s the smartest dog ever and really easy to train. I also tried to introduce her to my mother in law’s dogs but they bullied her so much that now she won’t play with other dogs at the park and became super shy😂!

Yes it was a mistake to have their first time meeting at a place that Mahea feels like “her territory”
Not trying to hate at all but the dogs in that place are kept in inhumane conditions and are from puppy mills. Many of those dogs from places like that have health issues and underlying problems from the breeding and conditions
At least you could have bought a dog from a responsible breeder not a pet shop. Those are not well bred and usually come from backyard breeders.
Pet stores like that the puppy’s are just breed for money. Those breeders don’t care where the dogs end up and if the dogs mother was over bred ur aussie can have health problems later on. Most breeders will make you do a questionnaire to see if it’s a good fit.
There’s already a lot of comments about puppy mills... so here’s another one. If you’re looking to get a dog, it is OKAY to purchase a puppy from a responsible, well informed, and respectable breeder. They know what they’re doing and they breed humanely. If you get a puppy from a pet store they’re likely to have health problems long term and purchasing a puppy from a pet store supports puppy mills. Puppy mills are in-humane and definitely not okay. Please adopt or buy from a good breeder. Also, I felt so bad for the Pomeranian when they forced the introduction. Please do a lot of research before getting a puppy, don’t buy on impulse.

Audrey Oliver I highly highly recommend you do not. Please google pet stores and puppy mills to see why. I literally have gone out there and it’s hearbreaking. The puppies are inbred, stuffed with antibiotics to keep them from dying, parents are used to breed until they themselves die. Kept in chicken crates. Thank you for reading their reviews.

I don't know what breed of dog you got but, it looks like an Australian Shepherd. With those dogs you need to give about 2 to 4 hours of exercise every single day, groom their hair, and make sure to train them a lot. I have one and he is very intelligent, you also need to train it not to herd people or other dogs because Australian Shepherds are herding dogs, also they love people so make sure you're socializing the puppy and giving him a bunch of love, good luck with the new puppers.

When new dogs meet each other for the first time it should happen outside or someplace open and first let them see each other and then get closer and closer. It's very important that the owners stay calm and don't get tense because that will also get the dog tense and make it think that since you are tens the other dog has to be something dangerous, love you
Every time they see each other give them a reward. Associate another dog with a treat. So it will be rewarding.
She gets along with others dogs because she has met them outside of her house. It’s a neutral place to meet. But when u bring another unknown dog into her space she becomes threatened and fearful. And territorial. It’s best to slowly introduce them. Best of luck with ur new pup

She's jealous of the new puppy. It'll take time and preferably when the family and you aren't all over the puppy... she sees the puppy getting more attention, being more gentle with the pup and all so she's extra mean. Most older dogs that have grown to be the single dog of a household tends to be mean to new puppies since they've been the only one with all the attention. It honestly just takes time, patience and little exposures at a time.

A lot of older dogs don’t like younger dogs because they are hyper and unpredictable, the older dog didn’t seem territorial at all just didn’t like the unpredictability of the nippy puppy, they’ll figure them selves out eventually 😂

I recently learned that older dogs wanted respect: example if you’re having a puppy you need to introduce them but the first move should be done by the older one, because if the puppy go directly to the older dog they will think that the younger dog didn’t

I have a aussie and they are the best dogs to have but u need to know how to care for them so just a heads up a undercoat rack is a must have for shedding season they have the double coat like a husky and there very hiper dogs that barley get beat out but I’ve also saw my dog learn every trick he knows just in 5 minutes. Google also really helps good luck she’s beautiful

There is nothing you can do to make them get along. It’s up to them. They will figure out how to get along. Trust me I know my dogs didn’t get along for a while but they got use to each other.

Introducing them in an open and neutral space where both dogs have never been too would've been easier on Mahea. You could tell how scared and upset she was with a new puppy invading HER space with no boundaries whatsoever. Also, knowing Luna is a very energetic dog, keeping her on a leash while being introduced to the other dog would've also been better so she's not jumping all over the other dog. Lol
