I worked with the United Nations here in New York for 37 years. I used to work in UNDP, Manila before moving to New York. Its good to see schools celebrating UN Day there with different national costumes!🇨🇿🇰🇷🇺🇲🇺🇳
It would have been wonderful if Lynn and Oliver wore your national costume to represent your country 😊..
Children who grow up in the Philippines ended up becoming resilient,respectful,don’t worry too much about problems but find how to overcome problems and stress and ended up family oriented,and your children is adopting slowly but surely.

At the start of Korean War, Filipino Gen. Carlos Romulo (who was then the President of United Nations General Assembly) intercede to explain to the Philippine President and the Senate how important it is to respond to the call of UN to help South Korea. Thus, the Philippines became the first Asian country to respond to the United Nations call, sending 5 Battalion Combat Teams that served in South Korea from 1950 to 1955.
This is one of the important events in history that the Philippines and South Korea shared together. One of the many reasons why we celebrate UN day every year. To commemorate friendships between nations and to promote cooperation, justice, equality, love and peace.
