    Will this fit under a plane seat as your personal item?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and good question! When the bag is expanded out it won’t fit under most airline seats unfortunately. When it’s compressed it could potentially pass as a personal item especially on a larger airline but the bag is still a little tall so on a flight with Ryan air or air Asia for example it might not be able to fit completely under the seat even when compressed. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)

    is the side handle big enough to loop around handles of a luggage?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I hadn’t really thought about that, I think it could fit on certain handles, I would be a little worried about how much pressure it would put on the bag due to the angle and whether it could damage the stitching tho

    Hi I'm interested in buying the bag but I've read through some reviews complaining about the slick seat belt materials used in the shoulder strap. Many of them mentioned that the straps would become undone and slide back to the lowest position. Do you have such problems with yours?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I haven’t noticed any issues with the straps coming loose yet. Like with alot of my bags I’m regularly tweaking the straps a bit depending on what I’m wearing or how heavy the bag, but so far they haven’t come undone. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag :)

    How comfortable this backpack is compared to both Uptown and Command backpacks from Timbuk2? From the video, the padding on the straps as well as at the back side of this backpack seems thicker.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I would say the padding on this bag feels a little more comfortable and softer, but I do think the material and elevation of the padding on the Uptown and Command bags will provide better airflow and reduce the amount of moisture that builds up. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

    seemed good, until those two hooks. if there was somewhere else to store them when you don't want the the "extra security", then fine. but there's wasn't. so it's just crappy design that gets in your way. quite stupid imo.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! and that's a fair point, i do wish they had made the hooks more useable for storing stuff or i guess they could have left them off and it wouldn't have really affected the bag negatively haha

      Traveling Salseros I have modified several bags, adding or removing things. Sounds silly but I think that’s the next “evolution” for us bag geeks, customization. There’s always that one thing we wish we could change on bags. Although one can only go so far of course :) thanks for the reviews!

      That's awesome to hear I totally agree. its something I hope to start experimenting at some point haha and I think with the popularity of companies making modular bags like Boundary Supply and Black Ember people are starting to like the idea of being able to custom tailor their bags a little more =)

    how would you compare this to the timbuk2 uptown? seems like the uptown could pack more

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! and thats a tough choice! haha Overall I think the Uptown is a better value, its lower priced and i'm not sure if it could hold more, but definitely at least as much as this one. I think this one works a little better as a daily bag and the look is a little more modern, but if those things aren't too important than the Uptown will be a very compelling option. I would also recommend comparing this to the Command Backpack which is also deceptively large (it won't hold quite as much, but still quite a bit) and lower priced. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the material listed on their site or amazon but I don’t think it’s cordura or ballistic nylon but more of a durable polyester. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag :)

    AYEEEE awesome review, man! but that price tag is cringey. Whoa. I adore Timbuk2 but I think I might go with something different when I give my current Timbuk2 up. I've seen these Amazon Basics ones but they feel REALLY cheap. And I guess you get what you pay for. Do you have any suggestions of what might be comparable to Timbuk2 in quality but not in price?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching!! and yea the price tag is definitely tough to swallow, but i was surprised with how many different things I enjoyed about the bag and it does feel like it will last a while thankfully haha the good thing is that Timbuk2 seems to at least offer a pretty wide variety of pricing for bags that are still really good, I have always been a big fan of the Command and Uptown backpacks, but I was also surprised how much I enjoyed using the Blink which can sometimes be found for under 100 (i was able to get mine for 50) which is a really good deal in my opinion. Outside of Timbuk2, even though some people are not crazy about the quality I have really enjoyed Herschel bags like the pop quiz and burton bags like the Tinder Pack so those might be worth checking out as well =)

  • @Sora5024
    @Sora5024 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am between this one and uptown model. Which one should I chose?? I love to split my clothes and school stuff seperate. What makes this one 2 times expensive than uptoen bag??

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and good question! I think the difference in price is due to the newness of this bag, the more "modern" aesthetic (not to say the uptown is not a really nice looking bag as well haha), and the fact that this one is compressible / expandable. I think the ability to expand the bag is the big selling point as it keeps the bag smaller for daily use, but gives you a little more capacity if you want to travel with it. With that being said, if you don't care as much about that feature or the look I think the Uptown would be the better deal as I feel like it can hold almost as much, it actually has more organizational options to keep everything a little more separate and its still a really nice looking and quality bag at a reasonable price. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag =)

    • @Sora5024
      @Sora5024 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dannypacks thanks for the answer it was very detailed. If the expandablity is the main point I would prefer nomatic bag. Actually I love the nomatic travel backpack alot. Having waist straps the what made me chwck the bag. And looking like a small daily bag from outside but can hold everything inside are the pros. But only con for me is it is expensive even they are on sale. They should make a affordable bags too. I have 2 questions the nomatic waist streps can be use with any bag?? And do you know any other bags like numatic small and good looking not bulky (not more than 30l), a lot of organization (school stuff pocket, travel pocket, tech pocket), expandable, durable, can handle 2 or 3 day trips, has a water battle and straps for making the bag in shape (i use it to put my white cane there and the staps help to hold it in the water bottle area), has quick access pockets and and has chest straps in a price range of $30 - $70 my limit is $100. I hope something like this exist.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good call on the Nomatic, that is definitely one of my favorites! it is still the best kind of hybrid bag that i have found in that it works so well for daily use while still being good for travel. I haven't tried the Nomatic waist straps with other bags but they seem to have a pretty common attachment mechanism so I wouldn't be surprised if they would work with others. As for other bags like this, unfortunately they are pretty rare and more rare in the sub 100 price range. The best ones I can think of would be either the Uptown which you were considering or the incase EO travel backpack which is also expandable and compressible. Right now it is available for under 100 on the Incase site and that is a really great bag. The main negative based on the things you mentioned you wanted is that it doesnt have an external water bottle compartment and it also doesn't have the ability to add a waist strap but its still pretty great. Another option that might be worth checkign out would be Knackbags, I haven't tried them yet, but they seem to offer alot of the same benefits as the Nomatic and Nevercheck bags. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer =)

      @@dannypacks thanks for replying again. I searched those bags and findout that that uptown bag is $47 right now. Which perfectly fits my budget. I will go with timbuck2. I also watched your command vs uptown comparison video. Command is $51 right now. Command looks more padded and it looks more durable than the uptown. However I feel in love the look of the uptown. My only complain is if uptown is last long for several years. This are my thoughts after watching your videos since you had them if there is something you want to say like the uptown/command is better because of ..... I want to hear it too. Thanks for your big help. Have a nice day :))

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sora5024 glad to help! I think the Command and Uptown are both great and I don't think one is necessarily better than the other they just have different looks, and I feel like the Uptown has a little bit more space and organization and it should be similarly durable and when I wore them the comfort was almost identical, so I think you will really be good with either one =)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! and it is definitely one of the best bags, its still a pretty tight choice between this and the Nomatic Travel Pack for me. I prefer the look of this one, but I like some of the additional features that the Nomatic has and i think you get a little more value for your money since it includes the removable waist belt and the compression packing cube. But honestly both bags are amazing. Another option that is pretty comparable is the Incase EO Travel backpack. And if you don't care as much about the bag being expandable / compressible, another nice alternative is the Timbuk2 Uptown which holds a ton and has a really nice look but is much more affordable than the Never Check. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)
