I've heard it said by a welsh person, and my response was "that sounds right, but like it's Irish." From the minimal amount of her stuff that I've seen, I'd guess she knows Irish, or at least knows Irish pronunciation well enough to sing traditional Irish songs, and the close relationship between the Irish and Welsh languages gave her an advantage over English speaking loosers like me. :P

I can't express how much she's one of the best people in the world💕💕😭
Because for a lot of people, educational literature and such like text books are REEEAAALLLLLYYY boring to read and listen to, in part, because they are tied to long painfully dry and boring lectures in school where you have to stay seated and be quiet for HOURS on end. So, saying that they'll listen to Malinda sing those kinds of things is their way of saying that even the MOST PAINFUL AND BORING things that they may can think of are turned into something entertaining and enjoyable when she sings them 😄
That's also the reason why we need to get teachers that are flexible and who can make what they teach enjoyable and interesting for their students, so that they'll be interested and excited about and engaged in learning new things. So that they _*want *_ to learn more. I've also, fortunately _and_ unfortunately, had teachers from both sides of the spectrum, so I can understand both sides. 🤷🏻♀️

Technically, it's two lls in a row. Ll is a different sound from l in Welsh (that hissing sh-ish sound if you listen to the song).

I have a brother who has a Welsh gf (it's where they have lived together for years now) and she wasn't too far of the correct pronunciation.
@@heidi_1love Yep, it was a really good attempt at the pronunciation. The only mistake I heard was 'fair' should sound more like 'vire'. Considering most people trip up on the 'LL' in Welsh, she did amazingly!

I know this is not the point of your comment, but a fun fact I learned recently and wanted to share is why it's called close captions, because it is not "close" captions. it's "Closed" captions. It's called closed because it could be toggled on and of waaaay before video was digitally encoded (and thus needed processing before it was shown in a TV), it was hidden in a part of the signal that syncronized the incomming signal with the internal processor of the TV back in the VCR days. if you want to know more, this video explains it quite well: th-cam.com/video/6SL6zs2bDks/w-d-xo.html

Lol, I live in NZ but I've never heard about this wildly long place and tbh, that name isn't as hard to pronounce if you know how to pronounce Maori
@@offix_rw5393 It's pretty obscure, it's a random hill somewhere, not a town, but its a real place. I am sure the one in the song name isn't as hard to pronounce if you know how to pronounce Welsh. We just have the advantage because we are more used to Maori pronunciation.
New Zealand is still a great place. Though that might be biased as I am from there.
