🏗️ Skyliner II - Episode 1: Underground Construction ❗️

We're kicking off a series in which we'll regularly showcase the construction progress of Skyliner II-the second tower in our complex in the heart of Warsaw. In this first episode, we present the recently completed foundation stage, a crucial phase for the entire structure of the skyscraper. Szymon Zduńczyk, Managing Director and Board Member of Karimpol, and Marcin Hoyer, Site Manager from WARBUD S.A., discuss the details and challenges of this phase.
Work extending 22 meters deep has been finalized, with the last section of the foundation slab successfully poured. The construction of Skyliner II’s underground levels was carried out under challenging conditions in a densely built urban area, using the top-down construction method. The building’s foundation includes a slab varying in thickness from 1.9 to 4.9 meters, made with 4,700 m³ of low-emission concrete mix, reinforced with barrettes reaching nearly 39 meters below ground level. Over 40 people, including rebar specialists, concrete workers, waterproofing experts, and underground machinery operators, were involved in constructing the skyscraper’s underground levels.
The focus now shifts to erecting the structure up to the "ground zero" level, which will form the base for the next stages of the project.
Skyliner II will provide Warsaw with 24,000 m² of modern space, with 23,000 m² allocated for office use and nearly 1,000 m² for retail and service areas. Each office floor will offer approximately 1,100 m² of space, and the top floors will feature green terrace gardens totaling nearly 900 m².
Skyliner II also stands out for its eco-friendly approach-the building has received a BREEAM certification at the "Outstanding" level and will be powered by renewable energy sources. The architectural design is by APA Wojciechowski Architekci, and the commercialization process is supported by CBRE Poland.
