    This is hands dowm the BEST BODICE TUTORIAL there is! It showed me step to step as a beginner how to measure, draw and cut it all out. And everything was just so clear from the video I dont even have anymore questions to start my sewing. So satisfied and glad that this video helped me tremendously!

    This is a perfect demonstration of how to drape. I've watched a few prior and they were not as thorough as your video. Thank you so much. I've learned quite a bit on draping in a short time frame from your video and didn't fall asleep halfway through it. Very precise.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial, I learnt a lot. This is the best so far, the way it was explained with full details. With a class like this on TH-cam I can easily learn from my country with low budget or thinking how to afford school fees. Thank you University of Fashion, I love this class. You can create your own princess style lines. For the front, the princess line is positioned mid shoulder through apex down to center of waist. On the back: mid shoulder, down along the shoulder blade to mid back waist.

    Question, I have a dress form and I design clothes for different people the dress form is not adjustable. How can you construct different garments on a dress form that does not adjust to different sizes. Just a standard foam. Please reply. Thank you.

    • @merindymorgenson3184
      @merindymorgenson3184 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      LAURICE HUBBARD I’m not a fashion designer, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I have seen people adding padding to a dress form. I’ve also seen people taking a padded bra that fits very well and pinning it to the dress form and then stuffing it to help it maintain its shape. You could also add a layer of panty hose or something similar over it and stuff it to the correct proportions. Just some ideas.

    • @jpurvin

      You will need to use a dress form for this lesson. When draping something as form fitting as a bustier, it is the most accurate way.

    But adding 3" is an extra 1.5" on the seams..which is HUGE. and can drastically affect a curved seam if youre measuring that far away from the actual sewing line.... 5/8" seam is the norm so you can let out each seam up to an inch if absolutely necessary

    • @UniversityOfFashion
      @UniversityOfFashion  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a _draping_ lesson for making a bustier. What you would like to do would require a _pattern making_ lesson. But, yes, then you could make this bustier using your client's measurements, alone. Both approaches can get the job done.

    • @UniversityOfFashion
      @UniversityOfFashion  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to attach the bustier to a long skirt without it falling down, you just need to be sure that the bustier fits like a glove on top and that you have inserted bones into the princess seams. When you subscribe to University of Fashion, you will be able to watch our follow up lesson "Foundation Bustier Construction Techniques"
