pretty sure it would have made a new timeline, so nothing would affect Jack and Ashi, but all those in the future that jack was in, would never have known jack and never would have had to go though the troubles of Aku

I personally hate that they killed Ashi off like that. Season trying to convince us that they were going to give Jack a girlfriend and for once actually let him keep her but no they just had the cop out and get rid of her and I don't know why. I mean sure if Jack had killed Aku the day he challenged him, Ashi never would have existed but they can easily get past that because it's a cartoon. It doesn't have to follow timeline logic crap. But no they just had to end it with one final kick to Jack's emotional crotch. As if 50 years of trying to get back to the past and constantly put his life on the line and lose every opportunity to get back to the Past One Way or Another wasn't bad enough for the poor guy
I will only accept the fanfic-ish Rick and Morty "Here's Ashi from a universe where Jack died" crossover as canon. Y? It just fits the narrative too well to ignore.
I have a story, I watched this episode on the verge of tears I had lost a good friend to suicide a few days before this aired and we would watch these together and this song has so much meaning I cannot thank Gennady enough for this. I cry every time I hear it cause it was one of the most powerful moments in the series. Rest Easy Cordell, I will see you again soon my brother.

The very first episode of Samurai Jack I'd ever watched, 15 years ago, was the Rave Episode. The writers and animators put the same children there, and I teared-up instantly. You only improved it and I've been listening to the song on repeat for about 30 minutes now at my desk, still stunned.

Wish they would have played that up a little bit. Generations of people and creatures existed because Jack saved them. They should have gone full Schindler's List.

Jeffrey Meehan like, in my mind The New Ravers are grandchildren of the old human ravers. most likely the village has a strange mix of old traditional architect as seen in the episode, but the pop culture is based around the ravers, and a religion sort of based on Jacks values. I can't be the only one who got religious vibes from them

I loved this scene its so moving how it tells how Jack saved those people and I think it's nice how the girl became the DJ
Ashi was having flashbacks of her childhood while she was on her hunt to find Jack when he went missing. You know what would be a great flashback? What if while on her quest to find Jack and help him from danger, her stomach growls and then goes to get some food. She's about to eat it but notices a poor child on the streets who is starving. Seeing the child like that gives her a flashback of her training. A flashback of when her sisters were eating food as a result of a reward for focusing on their training. But Ashi is not eating because she isn't given any. Then one of her sisters try to give some of theirs to Ashi while their mother isn't looking. Ash smiles and almost eat. But then the mother uses her staff to knock the food out of her hand and says something like "Only the strong and focused are rewarded. The weak have no place with Aku; thus such necessities are not given to the weak." Ash has to show focus and strength during her training to be rewarded with food back as a child. They are training but they at least need to be fed. After the flashback, Ashi offers the food she bought and gives it to that child she sees starving on the streets. Would be a good flashback to see.
And I agree to that.
As wonderful as that scene might be, from what's shown in the series, the evils the girls suffered did not include deprivation of their basic needs of food, water and rest; they're simply too fit and healthy for that. They were physically abused, emotionally, mentally and socially abused and neglected, but I don't think they were physically neglected.

I will never forget samurai jack ever i am still glad we got a proper ending with jack finally defeating aku and returning home i was really salty that the show never got a ending till they surprised us with the announcement that jacks returning

I understand how this had to end, but time continuity is weird. Jack can't forget his future-past because he lived it, yet he also erased it. At best he should maybe simply forget it...and yet he didn't. His memories, his existence, should have been an anchor of love to keep Ashi tied to the plane.
At least, that's how I would have written it in a small epilogue arc.

dam i so wish they did a " corrected timeline" slideshow of the future without aku, the aliens, the under water people, the relics he tried to use to go back ( bar the well of evil wishes made by aku) would still have existed. would have been nice to see a crazy future where an Ashe becomes a officer with say a model X-9 as her partner or even a scatt man bot..
This is cool but I wouldn't call it extended because it's just a loop I have a loop version I made like this on my phone as well but mine is more like an hour long😅 but still you did pretty good

i still find it odd that ashi knew exactly how to use akus powers right after she learned she had them. instantly just goes back to the past where jack kills aku then uses the time portal to go back to the future
