    Why the fascination with low angle planes now a days? Looking at Woodcraft ect, they mostly sell low angle. I work with figured woods and ebony that sometimes is figured, low angle is not what I need. Lie-Nielsen make a great looking 103, thier version of the Stanley 103, but it is not the same angle as the tried and true Stanley. Wonder why they choose to reinvent the wheel.
    Low angle is best for end grain and very plain wood with really straight grain.

    Yes indeed. I have this lil' jewel too. Wonderful heft, looks, and ergonomics. And the bronze doesn't rust. Fantastic tool. Wouldn't do without it now!

    I have this plane with the ductile iron body. I really didn't understand what a handplane could do until I bought it.

    Hi, the blade has a 30° bevel?
