      Thanks. I guess it may be time to learn to play golf and stop making videos. Just kidding, it is like still being unemployed but getting a paycheck. Thanks for watching.

      I want to get into steam bending and laminate bending wood that requires thinner resawn slices of wood. I have tried cutting thin slices on my sawmill but they warp terribly during the drying process so this will allow me to dry the wood in thick slices that are stable and then saw it thinner later. Thanks for watching

      I'll be looking forward to this project. You must have quite a bit of wood in stock for this project. I hope it works well. Always a good day when we learn anything new. Good luck to you.

    I just ordered the same saw last week and waiting for it to arrive. I was curious if the box would fit through my door. You answered my question. My concern now is how to get it into my basement from the garage. Your videos on this saw are exceptional. Thank you. My next project is running lines for my dust collector. Looks like a bit to learn on that as well. Thank you for your informative and well narrated videos on this saw.

      Be sure to check the table flatness when clamped and for vibrations caused by the lower band wheel when you first get it. I had comments from a purchaser this week that received a saw with the same issues as mine. It takes them a long time to get replacement parts out. It is a great running saw now that it is fixed. Thanks for watching.

    Those dollies are a back saver for sure, I use them all the time to move heavy things around when nobody is around to lend a hand. Looks like your shop is getting a little tight for space perhaps a new bigger shop is in your future, my friend. I enjoy all your videos thank you and God bless

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The dollies are great helpers. You can't buy the casters for what Harbor Freight sells the dollies for. A bigger shop would be nice but it is no longer an option. I just have to squeeze everything a little tighter together and quit saving all the scrap wood. Thanks for watching.

      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I removed Grizzly from my list after the planer issues I ran into after that purchase. I was looking at the Jet, Rikon & Laguna 14 inch models first. Then saw a couple videos about this model and decided that the extra throat capacity and table size would come in handy. Hopefully I will have time to go through it and set it up next week. I am impressed so far and it was great how well it was packaged to eliminate the hassle of reparing a machine damaged in shipping. I will definitely do follow ups. Thanks for watching.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      I am going to cheat on this one. My box is full and there is an unused electric stove outlet right above it so I am just going to make an adapter and plug it in the exsisting outlet. That will save a lot of rewiring problems and permit. Those MiniMax machines are really nice. Thanks for watching.

    really enjoyed the video, I recently got the grizzly 17in and i went through 2 before i got one not destroyed by ups shipping. I bought the base as well and it came ground and looked like it went through hell getting here. I might not buy from them again.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ordered a second base and the end of the box was ripped open with parts missing. UPS just taped it back together. Grizzly filled a claim and got the missing parts right out. I think the UPS workers see Grizzly on the boxes and purposely break them apart looking for tools because l seem to have problems with every shipment riped open with items missing and my delivery lady can't believe what the boxes look like. Thanks for watching.

      Beginning of this year I went from being unemployed for over 10 years to being retired. Only difference is that I now get a social security check each month. I was a mechanical design engineer that designed machines and test equipment to help bring many high tech products to life that we enjoy today. On my last job I was replaced by cheap H1b visa labor and got so mad that I decided to drop out of the work force. Best move I ever made. Thanks for watching

    Congratulations on your retirement!!! Your review on the Grizzly G1023RLW helped to push me off the fence to purchase it and your upgrades have been very helpfull! I'm now looking to replace my Jet bandsaw with the Laguna, I'm looking forward to your next post about this item. What base did you purchase and what CNC machine do you use?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. My G1023 has been great so far. I purchased that new Grizzly bear claw 1200 pound base that is on special for $59.00 now. I thought it can be switched between machines once I figure out the bandsaw final location so it will be more useful then the dedicated Laguna base at less then 1/3 the cost. I will make a video of assembling the base when it arrives so we can all see how it works and clears the lower door. I built my cnc router from parts that I had laying around. There are a couple videos about building it way back. Thanks for watching.

  • @WilliamAlanPhoto

    That is a beauty. I'm curious what were your deciding factors over the similarly sized Grizzly?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After my experience with the planer I decided that I was going to avoid Grizzly for large tool purchases in the future. I considered the Jet, Rikon, and Laguna. Then decided on this saw for the ceramic guide system, 16 inch resaw capacity, and ability to tension a 1 1/4" blade. I still don't know about their customer service but have read lately it has been improving. So far it looks like I made the right decision seeing the quality of the packaging, finish, and deburring of all the parts. I will give feedback once I get it set up and running. Thanks for watching.

    Unfortunately, I am loaning Uncle Sam money at a rate in which he'll never pay back. That's if he's not completely mismanaging it, which I figure by the time I retire, he'll be saying "hey, you knew the gamble you were taking giving me hundreds of thousands of dollars" ... I am definitely losing big time on this deal.
