  • Day 9 and I am up against it if I'm to get back on schedule after finishing at Clovelly previously. My plan is to make it as far as Morwenstow via Hartland Point and Hartland Quay. Little did I realise just how hard this stretch of coastline was going to be.

    I've been waiting for days for this next section of your walk to appear and have enjoyed every second of your journey so far, but particularly this day's hike. Wow Paul, your drone footage is incredible, especially the bit as you approach and fly over Black Church Rock. I have to remind myself that you are doing all of it yourself and don't have a film crew with you; it's THAT GOOD! Thank you for showing me a different angle of perhaps my favourite section of the SW coast path. Cannot wait for your next video to pop up!!!!

      @@pilgrimpaul7798 no, thank YOU for giving me the best TH-cam viewing I have seen in a long while. Good luck with your continued walking (and video making!) I hope to follow in your footsteps very soon. Having only done the whole Cornish section and bits of the rest, I am itching to piece it all together now. If you need any help when you get round to the mid Cornwall section where I live, give me a shout! (PS I'm glad you aren't doing a section today in this heavy rain!!!)

    I stumbled across the day one video yesterday and now have binge watched right up to day 9. Great use of music throughout.
    I've only done a 3 day walk from Plymouth to salcombe with my dog plus lots of day walks in various places . Just shows you don't need to travel far to have an adventure.

    Hey Paul, great video. The drone footage takes your vlogs, literally, to another level! Was on this section just two days ago, and we also wild camped on route to Bude, (film uploading later today), and was astonished when you said the next section was fairly flat! My thighs are still burning now, so for the benefit of Hartland virgins, I can totally refute this statement!! Its an amazing piece of coastline and probably our favourite section around these parts, having moved to North Devon less than a year ago. Good luck with the remainder of your walk, atb, the Glum Hiker.

      I'll def give your video a watch, it will be interesting to see your take on it. Im glad you like the drone footage. When I looked at the map the section between Speke's Mill Mouth and Welcombe Mouth looked ok but the rest of that stretch was hard.

    Well done walking this long and challenging section. Absolutely beautiful drone shots! And you have chosen the perfect sound tracks to it. I have had lunch at that round wooden table on my walk from Hartland Quay to Morwenstow. And I nearly jumped in my chair when you early on said you thought this stretch would be fairly flat 😃 And I though you were using very much time stopping and admiring the views considering the (to me) challenging walk ahead ;-) I remember Hartland Quay - Morwenstow partly as a rollercoaster, but luckily not too long 😃

    • @pilgrimpaul7798
      @pilgrimpaul7798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Torunn. That round table was a beautiful spot. I must have misread the map, there were some flat stretches but also a series of massive climbs. I think if I walked that section again I wouldn’t spend any time flying my drone and would just keep walking. Make sure you check out Love Sundays video on the week end, there maybe a special guest!!

    Looking to do some stretches of the SWCP in September, what best bang for buck sections would you recommend...looking for beautiful coves, beaches, views and not too many up and downers 🤣

    • @pilgrimpaul7798
      @pilgrimpaul7798  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for that Steve, glad you are enjoying them. I try to give a feel of what each section is like. It’s a good question you ask and one that is hard to answer. There aren’t really many sections that are flat, especially if you’re also looking for coves, beaches and views. The last leg I did from about Pendeen to Porthcurno wasn’t too severe. Plenty of beautiful beaches to take in such as Sennen, Nanjizal and Portcurno. Or Portreath to St Ives was fairly easy walking and you have beautiful beaches at Hayle, Carbis Bay and St Ives, but this will be busy. If you narrow it down at all and need any help give me a shout.
      Cheers
