There isnt really much when it comes to electric guitars except for 2 things. 1) Quality of the setup (guitar + amp): Whilst one doesnt need to spend crazy on a setup, buying the 'cheapest' setup will definitely sound terrible and isnt worth it. If budget is very tight, u can buy a second hand electric guitar, upgrade its pickups, if possible its tuners, and set it up at a music shop. 2) String muting techniques: This is the only thing that is harder on electric guitar compared to acoustic, otherwise playing the same thing on electric is much easier.

All you need is just 3 things, an electric guitar, amplifier and an effects processor
That first chord in the 2nd progression is actually a Dmaj9 with that e string open as e is the 9th:) Great progression :)
