2024 Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Youth State Championship

We are thrilled to share the highlights from the 2024 Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Youth State Championship, held on June 7-8th at Cedar Creek Reservoir in Gun Barrel City, TX. It was an amazing time for all our Texas regions-Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast-to come together for a fantastic weekend of fishing.
We are excited to announce that our Top 2 High School teams and our Top 3 Junior teams will be advancing to Nationals!
A huge congratulations to our High School State Champions, Jacob Longlois and Slade Nunnally. They had a phenomenal weekend, bringing in 5 bass on Day 1 weighing a total of 14.61 lbs and an impressive 4 bass on Day 2 weighing 15.25 lbs, making their grand total 29.86 lbs. This secured them a spot at Nationals and a grand prize payout of $10,000!
Another huge congratulations to our Second Place High School Team, Caden Alexander and Brise Hazelton. They had an amazing performance with 5 bass on Day 1 weighing 14.21 lbs and 5 bass on Day 2 weighing 14.35 lbs, totaling 27.56 lbs, and securing the second spot to Nationals.
Our Junior Division teams also had an impressive weekend. Congratulations to our Junior Division State Champions, Gunnar Freeman and Eastin Gilliland. They brought in 5 fish on Day 1 weighing 17.47 lbs and 4 fish on Day 2 weighing 6.32 lbs, making their grand total 23.79 lbs, securing the first Junior spot to Nationals and a grand prize payout of $5,000!
Congratulations to our Second Place Junior Team, Brayden Griffin and Maverick Landaverde. They brought in 5 fish on Day 1 weighing 14.95 lbs and 2 fish on Day 2 weighing 6.12 lbs, totaling 21.07 lbs, and securing the second spot to Nationals.
Congratulations to our Third Place Junior Team, Bryant Atwood and Matthew Balden. They brought in a total of 8 fish over both days, weighing 18.33 lbs, securing the final Junior Division spot to Nationals.
Our Big Bass Champions for the State Championship were Jacob Longlois and Slade Nunnally with their incredible catch on Day 2 weighing 6.13 lbs!
