    The usual practice was to have the racket head at the height of the net or slightly higher. We were taught this reduced the time to get to the shuttle. So it's interesting to see this new perspective of the racket being BELOW the tape.

      That's interesting. Our rationale for keeping it slightly below (as explained in the video) is that if the serve is good, the shuttle will dip down after crossing the net. If the racket face is above the net, then this will create a natural trajectory of the racket going down to hit the shuttle, which increases the probability of hitting the net. Keeping the racket slightly below helps to adjust for this

    Out of topic here, but I've always had a problem with dragging my arm down with overhead shots, especially when smashing. My elbow doesn't stay up, which is bugging me tremendously. Sadly, I don't know how to adress this problem, do you have any idea how I could work on that?
    I want my elbow to stay up and the forearm/wrist to go down before the elbow does, the way it should be.
