- Another exciting adventure in Lake George, NY for Americade '24 filled with some close calls and tons of laughs. This is just Pt. 1! The Harley Davidson Road King that almost left us stuck in Lake George Village and the Harley Davidson Road Glide that almost didn't make it up/down the mountain and home!

I bought a Buell in South Dakota, I camped at and HD Dealer near Minneapolis. I was trying to mount a phone holder.. I bought a 0.2 ounce pinch tube of Loctite at the HD Dealer for $13.00. I used to buy 4 oz bottles for $13.00 ..40 times more product for the same price.
Enjoyed the views of the ride. Lol, the Woods Queen. Then there's the Ice Queen, the Lake Queen, the Cliff Jumper Queen, lol! Looked like a great time. Glad to see your bikes get some well deserved attention! SWIPER NO TOUCHY!! Thanks for taking those of us too far away along for the ride. Appreciate the time and efforts for our entertainment!! I used to Buy and Sell FWD Truck parts to a guy in Richfield Springs. He has a Snow Plow Truck Junk Yard.. FWD Walters and Oshkosh snowplow Trucks.. There are some areas that get tons of Lake Effect snows.
He was an avid snowmobiler and told me about Tug Hill.

Wish I would have known you guys were there. Would liked to have met you and said hi. Been there every year since 1985. Not because it’s that great of a rally, but because it’s only 330 miles from home and have made a lot of friends over the years that we only get to see once a year.

I see there are aftermarket Shifter Linkages that are built better and make HD's shift better I can't remember the Brand.
It has a Trask carbon fiber shift linkage, bolt just backed out.
@@VPCustoms Normally shift linkages have left hand threads on one end and right hand threads on the other end . and lock nuts on both ends.
I made a U-turn in the Middle of the road with my Buell in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There was a Turtle crossing the road and I wanted to help him before he got ran over. When I went to put my kick stand down it fell off. I leaned the bike against a sign and found all the parts except for the main bolt.
On my way back to my friends house I passed through a Town with a Hardware store. Before I found the hardware store I filled the bike with gas. Normally I never fill a bike completely full if I am not going to ride it a few miles to take a little off the top. I mentioned that because I see a dude on TH-cam that filled his bike completely full then stopped next door at an HD Dealer..
The heat made his tank overflow and his bike burst in flames.. He stood there looking stupid even though odds are strong the HD Dealer had fire extinguishers. Finally an HD Employee came out with an Extinguisher and used it after the bike was pretty much Totaled.
It was a really hot day. I normally park near a light post ect to make it harder for 4 wheeler idiots to run my bike over.
I got a 5/8" Bolt a lock nut and some washers.. I did not have the right tools with me. My gas had gotten hot and was overflowing out an over flow tube that dumped the gas down by the swing Arm.
Why can't HD do that?
I later installed the bolt and lock nut. When I got home I took the bolt off, lubed it with grease and drill the nut and bolt for safety wire.
It's not going to fall off again. It might be nice to have the Genuine Buell custom bolt for $20.00 but the Grade 5 from the hardware store works just fine too.
The Nylock nut is very close to the muffler and partially melted the Nylonck so the safety wire is a great piece of mind.

Some dude made a comment how he takes one end off and screws the Heim Joint in or out to change the linkage.
I told him you don't have to take one end out of the rod hole, you just loosen both ham nuts and turn the Center Piece in or out to make the linkage longer or shorter.
I think I almost blew his Mind. He said he would check and see if you are supposed to do it that way or not .. Imagine Millions of people may have been doing it wrong for 100 years..

Well that looked like a lot of fun...out motor boat'n and such. As far as Tanya's chaps, they didn't seem "less" at all, I'd say properly filled. Looks like both bikes got their share of looks, but what was up with the dude touching yer bike? So what was it on Tanya's air ride system; was it just a connection that came loose? Anyway - looking for Part Deux. Ride Safe friends!

and thats why i would never do Air Ride on my bike...everyone thinks it's so cool drop the bike super low on the center stand it looks great and it is cool until it isn't and you can't even ride Home because you blew a line or something Fails... no thanks i'll stick to my wilbers.. you're bike is Bad Ass that Blue is FIRE!!
