Whenever I want to meet locals from Hawaii, I stop by the Grand President on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Not as "Grand" as before since Towers 2 & 3 are renamed and only Tower 1 remains. You may want to check out and do a Hawaii video from the Grand President Hotel. Not sure if the concierge Mr. T ever came back, but Mr. Big can connect you with the Hawaii guests. Or you can just hang around the lobby and listen for the pidgin.
In 2019, I traveled with my friend Mel, and he used to go to Nana Hotel on Soi 4 for R&R from Vietnam in the late 60s. So we stayed there a couple of times. Many locals from Hawaii live there. We talked in the lobby with them.
