Which time
I was there January 2024, in the morning. Thanks for watching.
Saw other videos on TH-cam n they mentioned the hotel is off soi 22? No? Was about to book this hotel but if it’s that close to red light district then certainly not ideal for me…😔 Tks for the info.
The Holiday Express that I stayed is on Soi 11. That is close to Nana district and that is the red light district. Also close to Soi 4 where red light action takes place. If you want to get out of that, you need to go towards Soi 50 area. This is a local family oriented area. I stayed at the Cube Fifty hotel on Soi 50. Walking distance to the rail and shopping malls. I stayed at this hotel and I liked it. go check it out. Thanks for watching my vids....links below about hotel and area th-cam.com/video/UF2FTsEwfRE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-pVc860FcL7mf76M th-cam.com/video/wAiPR5j1nQo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZIBG3H6i8Swmdn26 th-cam.com/video/h-rOHCl45MU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mJNK4L9CXBflGGCM th-cam.com/video/u6_vp1qRXXw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vDQK5x-Au1fC4xUe th-cam.com/video/gk0a3W32Gf8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uN6-jYqjMwQ-8wIx

Yes, absolutely, thanks for watching
I wish you a safe journey back home and that you come back to Thailand as promised.
Thank you, and thanks for watching

Is your trip winding up? Looks like you have many long time friends in BKK.

@@omoto72 - Looks like you had an Amazing Thailand trip. 😊👣🤙🌈
@DaSharedVideos yes, a great trip indeed. Next trip, Vietnam, January 14, 2025, for the Tet holidays. Hanoi and Saigon.
nice

@@dirkgoossens141 I'm glad! Thanks for watching
If you're a tourist, Soi 11 is OK. It's not that quiet, but it's a good base of operations for Bangkok.
Absolutely, Soi 11 has a lot going on. Actually, a couple of years ago, It had more eating places, but now stands empty lots ready for construction of a building. I stayed there a few times. Thanks for watching.
where can get good happy ending?
Whenever I want to meet locals from Hawaii, I stop by the Grand President on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Not as "Grand" as before since Towers 2 & 3 are renamed and only Tower 1 remains. You may want to check out and do a Hawaii video from the Grand President Hotel. Not sure if the concierge Mr. T ever came back, but Mr. Big can connect you with the Hawaii guests. Or you can just hang around the lobby and listen for the pidgin.
@@DaSharedVideos wow, neat
In 2019, I traveled with my friend Mel, and he used to go to Nana Hotel on Soi 4 for R&R from Vietnam in the late 60s. So we stayed there a couple of times. Many locals from Hawaii live there. We talked in the lobby with them.

Terminal 21
Yes, terminal 21, I made a typo stating terminal 22. Thanks for catching
Where are you from?
@jeromeh6078 Hawaii. I left Bangkok on the morning of 22nd, and I'm now back in Hawaii. Bangkok is one day ahead of Hawaii.
Nice video🎉
Thanks for watching
Cool video. Every day things most YT videos don’t show.
@@allthecommonsense thank you,
That’s a nice hotel. Much larger than I expected to see.
Thanks for watching.
I guess it’s far more interesting at night 🤔
Yes, it is wilder later in the evening
Sad to see what they did to Khaosan Road. Before they cleaned it up and gave it a facelift, the place had a lively funky Wild Wild West vibe. The place is less seedy now but it also has far less character than before.
Thanks. I'll try to check out the new Phenix Mall next time I'm next door at Platinum Mall.
Ok. Looks like they are spelling it "Phenix" and it's next to the Platnum Mall with food stalls just starting to open up. I'm still waiting to see what the renovated Amarin Plaza will be like when it opens again next to Chit Lom BTS Station. th-cam.com/video/s-ezmBfEe-0/w-d-xo.html
I stand corrected after looking at some videos. I did see Phenix. Thanks for the catch.
Yawn
While touring you are walking five miles a day?
Lots of walking in humidity
I never been to walking street in Chinatown where is this at we going back again in January
Take the blue line from Sukhumvit Asok MRT to Sam Yot station in Chinatown bangkok. After exiting the station, walk to backtrack 50 yards until you come to a river. The market is only weekend
No one rides bicycles? A bicycle would be faster than being stuck in traffic.
It's dangerous riding bikes

@tracertrailparnamirim greetings to you! Thanks for catching this video. I just posted from a bar on Soi 22
That Soi goes all the way to the Tesco Lotus on RAMA IV via a tiny alley barely wide enough for a car, but that's not a stroll I'd recommend to new arrivals. I loved walking into the aircon after that hot walk but dreaded walking back. While there are Farang in every part of central BKK, that Tesco is very Thai compared to most of Suk.
You're awesome!!!
❤ Thank you David for the nice video I Love It😊
@dirkgoossens141 you're welcome, thanks for watching
Nice. Looks like an onolicious and spicy Thai version of the full English breakfast. 😋
It was good. Thanks for watching
Good to see more vendors on Sukhumvit Road again. Either the police are not enforcing the sidewalk ban or they're off somewhere else enjoying their tea money? 55555
Nice video. I'll try to check out the new EmSphere and Ikea store where Dinosaur Planet used to be next time I'm back in Bangkok.
The barbecued ribs look good at 2:36. I'll be in Phnom Penh towards the end of October and should be in Bangkok sometime in November or December when it's a little cooler (hopefully) and after the rainy season ends.
That looks good! Stainless steel? I'm thinking I could maybe turn it into a cold smoker. Charcoal in the little compartment and drill some holes on the inside curved wall to let the smoke into the larger main compartment.
Yes, stainless steel. I've seen these used in a lot Thai and Vietnamese cooking of broths.
Looks nice and quiet. I'll be back in Bangkok in November or December and most likely staying at the Grand Business Inn again on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Noisy and busy at night but I'm comfortable there and I can just take the BTS to Terminal 21 for breakfast/lunch at Pier 21 and sit by the window when they open.
I stay at the Holiday Inn Express at the end of Soi 11. Soi 11 has changed a lot. New construction looks like coming soon to the area
Yea. Not easy to find street food anymore along Sukhumvit Road. Soi 11 used to be full of street carts. Soi 8 is still pretty good. Hopefully the new Prime Minister will bring back some of the old ways and allow street vendors to earn a living again.
I know exactly what meant. My hotel manager said the same of street vendors disappearing
Aloha David. Nice video. Good to see a kamaʻāina footloose in SE Asia. I still remember Soi Cowboy from the 1990s when it was a dusty street with small open bars and hardly any air conditioning and Sukhumvit Road before the BTS Skytrain was built. I try to be out and about in SE Asia (usually Cambodia & Thailand) a couple of times a year, usually in the Spring and Fall. Perhaps we can meet and link up some time. I'll also be back in Hawaii visiting family & friends in September and October, flying in from Seattle/Bellevue.
Thanks for the comments. You sure know your way in asia, essentially Thailand. I try to visit Thailand twice a year. Next year's end of January, I'll be in Hanoi, Vietnam, and finish off in Saigon.
Bacon and eggs and rum.
Good. But mostly viewer like night life
I have stayed in that very room!
