Hi @preethiariyadarsini8832, Thank you for reaching out with such a fantastic question about candle making! It's one of the most asked questions we receive, and it's great to address it. In candle making, the addition of colour is a critical step for achieving the desired aesthetic. The best time to add colour is when the wax has fully melted but hasn't reached an excessively high temperature. Ideally, this is around 185°F (85°C). Adding colour at this stage ensures even distribution throughout the wax. Exciting news! Due to the high interest in this topic, we are currently working on a detailed video covering everything about adding colour to candles. I highly recommend subscribing to our channel so you don't miss out. This way, you'll get notified as soon as the video is up, providing you with more in-depth guidance and tips. For colourants, you have several options: Dye Blocks: Great for deep, rich colours. They need to be melted into the wax. Liquid Dyes: Offer precise control and mix easily but are highly concentrated. Powdered Dyes: Ideal for vibrant hues and larger batches, though require thorough mixing to avoid clumps. Stir the colour into the wax thoroughly for uniform distribution. Remember, the final colour of the candle might slightly differ from its appearance in melted form. I hope this helps in your candle-making journey! And if you’re enjoying our content, please subscribe to our channel for more in-depth tips and techniques. Your support encourages us to keep sharing our knowledge! Best, Sonal.

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. I just needed few details.. Could you please specify like how much fragrance oil has to be added to the wax you used?
You’re welcome and I’m happy that you found the video helpfully. I have used 10% fragrance oil in the video. All you need to do is, place the container in which you want to make the candle on the weighing scale. After which, pls turn on your scale, and measure in grams, and add water until the point you’re certain that this is the amount of candle wax u need in this container. That’s the amount of wax you must add.

I would really appreciate if you can help i just started making candles but the issue i am currently facing is when i burn the candles it does not burn completely only the middle portion is burnt which leads to small flame can you help me with that what can i do yo over come that
Congrats on starting your candle-making journey! 😊 The issue you're describing is called 'tunneling,' where only the middle portion of the candle burns. To prevent this, make sure to let your candle burn long enough during the first burn to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the container-usually 3-4 hours. Also, check that your wick size is appropriate for your candle. If the wick is weak, it won't generate enough heat to melt the wax evenly. I would recommend you try eco wicks for making candles Sharing the link for your reference: candlemakingsuppliesindia.store/products/eco-candle-wicks-eco-wicks-for-candle-making Hope this helps, and happy candle making! 🕯️

Pouring too hot can cause the wax to pull away as it cools too quickly; pouring too cool can cause poor adhesion from the start. 3. Use a primer or adhesive: There are primers and stickum adhesives available specifically for candle making which can be applied to the inside of the jar before pouring the wax to help with adhesion. 4. Top off the candle: After the initial pour has cooled and if a sinkhole has formed or if it has pulled away from the jar, you can do a second pour to fill in any gaps. 5. Cool slowly: Allow the candles to cool slowly. This can be done by insulating them with a box or wrapping them lightly with a towel. Experimenting with these methods should help in achieving better adhesion between the candle and the jar.
