from western massachusetts, thank you aussie floyd, for all u do. merry christmas indeed, to all of u. may we all stay "with friends surrounded... forever and ever"
Been listening to pink floyd all my life. I saw Aussie pink floyd last night at mohegan and all I can say was incredible people who say there mediocre don't know what there talking about. And I've seen original pink floyd. To keep the greatest music alive like this is mind boggling. This is second time I've seen them and hope to see many more
I once hated tribute bands, but then I realized that separation of writer and performer is something that is done most of the times in classical music and how much this separation can in fact add to the music. That the two are so glued together is an idea that arose in the 20th century and it confines music to a cage it doesn't have to be in. I think this cage was gradually put around the music industry by itself and the ideas of copyright. The australian pink floyd show is a perfect example of why "cover bands" should have a place in the history of music. Why should this magnificent piece not live on through ages and ages to come? The original albums are just part of this deal: The live experience seals it.
Given the fact that Pink Floyd is no more, a band like this, that plays the music so perfectly, is the next best option (other than seeing David Gilmour live). I've been wanting to see APF for years
@@stratplayr6997 Save your pennies, a lot of them, and see them, they're fantastic! I've seen PF 3 times, D.G. and R.W. once each and Aussie Floyd 4 times. It's like going to church, absolutely mesmerizing! Floyd's show's were... well they were Pink Floyd. Aussie Floyd does a terrific job at creating a mind blowing experience with their musicianship, stagecraft and light show!
I keep thinking how my all-time favorite band of my 50 year existence made these sounds in-studio and had difficulty performing them live many times. I think Aussie Pink Floyd is amazing to have not only adopted the passion for Pink Floyd but for doing them 100% justice in recreating their songs LIVE! Bravo! Once again my soul takes flight, & my heart can do nothing but be inspired all over again. I commend u and I'm sure the original band can be nothing but highly flattered and impressed! BRAVO!

Ich habe Pink Floyd Live 1989 erlebt . Ein Geschenk ich bin sehr dankbar das ich das erleben durfte. Ich finde es sehr gut das es Coverband von Pink Floyd gibt. Sie sind sehr gut.
I'm a huge floyd fan and I have to say that was amazing. Just as enjoyable as any PF version and I'd even go as far as to say more enjoyable in some parts. You've got to take your hat off to these guys.Had it cranked up through the hi-fi, just brilliant.
wow, just wow. there aren't many people who can cover this and pull it off, but they did, right there. awesome. can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks.
Heaven in a half-hour. seen you guys 3 times now, huge PF fan and I must say there were some parts of that I preferred to the original. Keep up the great work.
This needs to go back on the setlist. I've never been able to see Pink Floyd live (I was 8 when Rick died). One of the best versions they did in the mid 2000s in my opinion. Maybe next time in Strasbourg, I cross my fingers 🤞
Incredible! I had the original harvest records pressing of Meddle and this rendition really captures the energy and spirit of Echoes! Saw you guys twice in the Jackie Gleason theater on Miami Beach and it was very enjoyable both times.
Saw them last year at NTELOS in Portsmouth Va and again last night at same venue. Born in 1961 so not a neophyte Floyd fan, these guys are THE BEST. My wife is from Australia so perhaps some bias but I think all Floyd fans will agree
The only thing that even comes close to that Echoes experience would be the original Floyd playing it.. You guys are awesome! We saw you in Salt Lake City last time around and I was truly impressed! Keep it up, gents (and ladies)!!
I went to two of their shows in Germany and was hoping with all my heart that they'd play Echoes, but they never did... I'm close to crying right now. So if any of you guys ever read this: PLEASE play this song in Germany and make my wish come true - like I'm beginning you 😅
What more could be said about these guys that hasn't been said. They are truly Pink Floyd 2.0 ... or perhaps "Pink Floyd: The Next Generation" ... take your pick.
Why the hell not? At least, this band could entertain PF fans around the world. If they came to Thailand my country, I would not hesitate to buy a ticket to watch them.
Hmmm interested in the effects used for the famous piano sound used in this song? Thanks. BTW... amazing!! Wish to see this one live one of these days..
Have I ever heard the original? Lol, sure i have. I am Floyd fan since 1977. The original is great, Pompeï Echoes is better, but this version is the best i've ever heard.
The live version from royal albert hall "remember that night" with Richard Wright and David Gilmore is the best and most emotional performance of this eternal Song.
This is very good. In my honest opinion, the best version is done by David and Rick at the Royal Albert Hall... Pompeii is a Classic though, and close second. The Pink Tones - "Atom Heart Mother" live Segóbriga Roman Amphitheatre is the best cover of anything I have ever heard... even better than Pink Floyd, who never gave it much regard so never really captured it properly... I think the album was very poorly produced and very dull soundwise.. this one is stunning
My favourite Echoes is the Pompeii one but I can see why people would love the Albert Hall and the Gdansk version. They are astonishing! I do prefer Live in Gdansk over Albert Hall though. The first and main solo is more powerful and perfect in Gdansk and the other thing is : THE LAST PART! It's a masterpiece. The last few minutes and the harmony between David and Rick in Gdansk is undisputed by almost anything I've ever heard in any song. It's what makes Gdansk for me a very very close second to the legendary Pompeii version. Cheers :)
Mohamed Ben Abderrahmen I know where you are coming from, but I always find the acoustics of the open air concert at Gdansk to be less than the acoustics on Albert Hall... but you are right about those last few minutes... (lol. to comment on the "last few minutes" of a song.... Only Pink Floyd)... But have a look at The Pink Tones 'Atom Heart Mother" and tell me what you think of that.
Oh I did! Still can't believe what I saw. They performed it in the best possible way. There were several versions they made, but I guess you were meaning the Segobriga Roman Ampitheatre one. It really blew my mind. Thanks a lot man! I guess I'll be starting to recommend it to every human being I see. Thanks again!!
Guys, I've just watched the Segobriga AHM - utterly unbelievable! Thanks so much for introducing me to it - like you, I'm going to share this with everyone I know!
Pfff. So, in your opinion the London Philharmonics should never play Mozart or Beethoven? I you are right, we will never hear this great musiv live, just by CD or LP? Weird thoughts...
Abonanno24601 that's a misinformation: "The Australian Pink Floyd are the only Pink Floyd tribute act to play for a member of Pink Floyd; in 1996, they performed at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party."
I've seen Pink Floyd in 75 and in 77. Last week i saw aussie floyd for the 1st time. 400 mile drive each way, i can't wait to see them again!!

intriguing, insightful, informative: in-short, a spot-on analogy! Thanks so much for posting this!
Very well put sir

Love the vocals in this version. Great dynamic!
Those vocal harmonics are heavenly 😊
Downvotes incoming, but these vocals are better than Floyd's original.

Fucking awesome! I saw Floyd 3 times and this band is so close to sounding like the real thing it's mind boggling . Amazing
I was at their concert this year and… they're amazing. If I didn't know I'd say that is an original Pink Floyd.
Positively brilliant. The highlight of the show
Bust your ass at work, have a couple of beers while listening to echoes! life is good!
Gilmore said it all best cover band of Pink Floyd. Very refined, precise in their sound.
Of course there's nothing better then the real Pink Floyd but these guys come damn close they are awesome the best cover band I've ever seen

I like to hear the seagal effect. It made me feel good.
melody socool!
Cool
Quality..
Drummer is awesome, lays back in the beat, some of the greatest drummers cannot do this well, Neal Piert had trouble, Bonham was the best.
They are not playing this song on the Welcome to the machine tour 2015 , sad!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Immature, I know, but come on... I'm going to see them this year :(
Ich kann bloß sagen ober ober hammer
holy shit

Mozart was a bloke we never seen, but we know his music,,, How about a Prog-Rock Mozart tribute Band ?
THESE GUYS ARE BETTER THAN FLOYD!!! I SAW THEM LIVE, INCREDIBLE!!
You're self medicating too much.
concert au ZENITH de TOULOUSE le 11 février 2014....
they're dam good, but I feel the song is not melancolic enough. It's not hte same feeling as listening to it on Meddle

they're really good, but still don't have the class to put enough emotion on that song
Superbe morceau mais qui pour moi est gâché par ce passage de 4 ou 5 minutes (ghost) au milieu qui pour moi n'apporte rien.
