    I bet you anything, Iger regrets coming back now. I know it seems like we're beating a dead horse, but this is absolutely been the single WORST year in the history of Disney and on their 100th year anniversary. Reedy Creek allegations, multiple box office flops, lawsuits galore, and a proxy fight. And the cherry on the top, Disney's image has been tarnished. And what's sad is all of this could have been avoided had Bob Iger kept his political ambitions away from Disney. Now his greed and hubris is going to cost him and this company. Iger needs to go alongside most of the board. And Disney needs to clean house and get back to its roots. A wholesome family entertainment company. Be diverse, but do it like the Reinassance age where good stories captivated people and not partisan culture war BS.

      Well I for one am delighted Iger returned in time to reap the consequences of his own actions. Rather him than Chapek. And seeing as this will take at least a year for all Iger's doings to come out, I hope the board retains him till everything he's responsible for comes out... Then fires him without benefits. And his little KK too.
      Basically, for Disney to live Iger must take the blame for his actions while his actions are painted in a negative, unacceptable light. Only then will the next CEO and board Chair be free to rip the woke cancer out of Disney without the resistance Chapek endured during his run.
      While Disney is going to be hurt by all this, Nelson Peltz stands to gain by looking more and more like Igers natural successor. The man who gave Iger one chance to turn away from his approach and take the way of business for the consumer. Seeing as Iger lied to his face as he's been lying to everyone he talks to in media opportunities... Iger's only safe haven are those who think his name holds value in selling woke ideology... And I'll wager those phone calls are getting fewer and fewer.

Hence why Balckrock and Vanguard get mentioned so often, as their percentages are not that high, but they actively use them. Here is a question I have, and I ask it with no schadenfreude at all: why?
    No, not why is Disney failing. No, not that. There's a why (or perhaps several whys) behind the bigger why?
    Here's my question: why didn't those that Disney presumed to champion not support Disney? Is it that these demographics cannot support Disney? Or is it that they do not care to support their champion? And, then, more whys follow.
    I would love some rigorous, empirical answers to some of these questions.

    • @cameronjones8641
      @cameronjones8641 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have started to answer your own questions. The liberal far left that support all and any woke messaging are definitely in the minority in society even if many people agree with some. Extreme liberals tend to be younger and therefore have less disposable income. The types that support such messaging are also more likely to support socialism which increases the chance they are lazy, excuse ridden, victim culture snowflakes that don't bring value to their job and are therefore more likely to be in lower paid jobs. When you take a male oriented show, character or movie and insert a woman, it doesn't change the fact that women in general were not interested in the first place and female insertion wont help. No matter what someones politics are, a shit movie is a shit movie whether you support the message or not. The answer in a nutshell is that outside of Hollywood, universities and California, there simply isn't enough numbers to support Disney's agenda and the ones that do, tend to have less money and interest in these properties.

      I think from what I've consumed one of the answers is the motivations come from two places. One is jealousy of the success that certain segments that are looked down on by those that haven't liked or been involved in these hobbies. Comics, fantasy, and the like. The second reason is another group just wants to see anything popular burn. If that means simping for a cause they really have no interest in, so be it. A possible third theory is power attracts the corruptable. This can lead to all kinds of beheavor, from virtue signaling to becoming a sycophant all for the purpose of gaining power and money. What's being taught in colleges today hasn't helped either.

    • @markcarpenter6020

      I can answer part of that. I'm bi. Technically part of the LGBT "community"(though it hasn't been an actual community in decades). See the thing is most people who are LGBT do not actually support or agree with all the crap you hear from LGBT activists. The activists have highjacked the community and claim to speak for everyone but they only speak for a minority of the group they claim to represent. See there is a lot of pressure to appear unified even if you don't agree or be ostracized and shunned. So except for oddballs like me(I have zero respect for anyone whose only personality trait is their gender or sexuality) it's only recently that people in those groups have become so fed up they are speaking out against it all. The result is even when these companies pander they are only pandering to a very small part of the groups they are trying to pander to. It also doesn't help that zoomers(the group they are trying the most to attract) are actually the most conservative generation in decades (all the BS activism has actually turned them off on those topics)

    It is what it is. Disney thought it would be "hip" to jump on that woke bandwagon to go with the new generation and time, to be a modern company etc. The issue with this is, once you made that step for such a big company you can not turn around. It is just stupid for such companies to take part in political and/or ideology things. Just make MOVIES and SHOWS and whatever else you did good in the past. Is it so HARD to be neutral about politics and ideology stuff? You will even split your own employees at Disney when you take part into politics, AS IF 100% of those employees share the same ideology view.

    • @kumatal77
      @kumatal77 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not that they jumped on the bandwagon...it's more like they accepted to be an instrument of propaganda relying on Blackrock and Vanguard funds rather than people watching their movies. I think they are actively paid, like man6 other "woke" companies, by those mega-trusts.

    • @anonygent

      They can't turn it around because they fired everyone with talent and everyone who loved what Disney used to be, because they were "in the way" of Bob Iger's vision. To turn things around, they would have to fire everyone and bring back the old talent, most of whom found other jobs already.

There’s no amount of money Iger could offer Trump that would get him to pass up the opportunity to be cheered on by his supporters by jailing Iger. And then there’s Desantis who will take campaign donations from Disney, but will still go after them anyway. There’s no way Desantis will pass up the opportunity to jail Iger so he can declare victory to his base on their war on woke. Peltz himself is a big Desantis donor and has billions. He’s also a Trump donor and is apparently close to the Trump family. Iger crossed the wrong guy. Peltz has a lot more money, power, and connections than Iger and so does Trump.

    With the new anime UnDead UnLuck being solely streamed by Hulu which is owned by disney some trouble may arise from the production studio.
    Disney Plus was supposed to have the show on it ten weeks ago. To this day it is still not there. It is however on hulu.
    Unfortunately bc of the trouble with disney people are cancelling their disney plus and hulu subscriptions resulting in a viewership and possible revenue drop for both Undead Unluck and David Productions.
