Lyrics: It’s getting to the point where I’m no fun anymore I am sorry Sometimes it hurts so badly, I must cry out loud “I am lonely” I am yours, you are mine You are what you are You make it hard Tearing yourself away from me now-you are free And I am crying This does not mean I don’t love you-I do, that’s forever Yes and for always I am yours, you are mine You are what you are You make it hard Friday evening, Sunday in the afternoon What have you got to lose? Tuesday morning, please be gone, I’m tired of you What have you got to lose? Can I tell it like it is? (help me, I’m suffering) Listen to me, baby It’s my heart that’s suffering, it’s a-dying (help me, I’m suffering) And that’s what I have to lose Chestnut brown canary Ruby throated sparrow Sing a song, don’t be long Thrill me to the marrow Voices of the angels Ring around the moonlight Asking me, said she’s so free How can you catch the sparrow? I much prefer this 45 edit. I know a lot of people like to see this meander on . . . but I'm more a "to the point" type in most situations regarding music. When Stills had his big solo hit in early 1971 with "Love The One You're With," quite a few noted the similarities in the message in the chorus, to the chorus of "When I'm Not Near The Girl I Love" from the 1947 Broadway musical (and 1968 movie) "Finian's Rainbow."
I have to agree that the mono edit is more to the point and prefer hearing this version. However the radio stations I worked for stuck with the 7:25 album version due to audience preference.
radio stations today fill time with long tracks not singles. there used to be more banter and conversation between tracks in the past it seems. “the medium is the message”
This song.. is a personal favorite.. and is.. an EXCELLENT Mono/Stereo difference.. ..
RIP David Crosby. Thanks for all this great music
Stephen played this for Judy before recording the tune. Moved to tears, Ms. Collins gave Stephen her okay.
Excellent editing by Stills. Four flawless edits to shorten the song without removing any of the song movements or fading the song early.
MY SONG ❤

Excellent! Have you heard Foxes and Fossils do this?
Lyrics:
It’s getting to the point where I’m no fun anymore
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly, I must cry out loud
“I am lonely”
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
Tearing yourself away from me now-you are free
And I am crying
This does not mean I don’t love you-I do, that’s forever
Yes and for always
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
Friday evening, Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose?
Tuesday morning, please be gone, I’m tired of you
What have you got to lose?
Can I tell it like it is? (help me, I’m suffering)
Listen to me, baby
It’s my heart that’s suffering, it’s a-dying (help me, I’m suffering)
And that’s what I have to lose
Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song, don’t be long
Thrill me to the marrow
Voices of the angels
Ring around the moonlight
Asking me, said she’s so free
How can you catch the sparrow?
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
(Que India)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
(Me reonerda a Cuba)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
(La ceina de la Mar Caribe)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
(Quiero solo visitarla alli)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
(Y que taiste que no puedo, Vaya)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
(O Va! O Va!)
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do, do, do, do-do

funny how the rare and occasional long tune will be accepted on radio.
... and Stills was the best American male singer songwriter musician of his era!
Think I'll grab a lil stick of grass for this one.... Thanks
