- XDefiant releases a new Year One Roadmap Update, and Executive Producer Mark Rubin updates the community about the concerns of the game as well as an update on the netcode and hit registration.

Oh good so that means they'll add an obtuse launcher and a bunch of overpriced DLC. Ubisoft hasn't contributed towards a good game in over 15 years.

Yeah, this message and roadmap is nice! Do personally wish the daily rewards started in Season 2, but still pretty excited for everything coming. Im definately watching the XDebrief tonight
Them giving more details on what they're working on and just how much it entails, is a breath of fresh air. It sets expectations because it's grounded in reality. This is exciting news, thanks JakOfAllTrades!
There's a litany of factions/IPs that they can cull characters/operators from. But, like with all things, I'm approaching this with "cautious optimism".
Imo the IPs of ubisoft are just not that interesting/iconic. I'd rather see the game have its own identity. I don't think many people download Xdefiant thinking "Man, I really want to play a The Crew 2 character in Xdefiant". The only characters that maybe come close is something like Ezio from Assasins Creed or an important character from FarCry or SplinterCell.
Reducing the data needed in packets to increase resends will be a pivotal increase to net code. That's also a pretty good explanation as to why some people experience issues while others don't. From client to server some people could just be on the edge of the threshold when it comes to latency and connection reliability in this game but other games are just fine. So many factors from connection type (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) to their ISP and Internet speed plan to location from nearest server... decreasing the size of those packets will reduce time throughout every step. It's possible to force more resends on PC with a software like ExitLag but consoles are out of luck on that front lol.
And that's a much better solution for them to do compared to adding some kind of predictability server side like CoD does (which ironically can give someone with a worse connection an advantage during some interactions).
It is kinda cool with the crossovers from other games
They need a fixers faction from Watch_Dogs
I'd definitely like to see a detailed combat record that I can see what my overall kd and favorite weapon, faction and gamemodes are. Also I think some extra optics for the guns would be nice
My only take from this is that the game will continue to be unplayable until towards the end of season 2 due to netcode issues.
Funny that I stopped playing at the beginning of season 1....and I do not miss the game one bit.

Remember…there was a roadmap for concord and so many other games that ultimately failed. So unless player numbers and player spending go up don’t get y’all’s hopes high

Honestly i want a less blocky red dot sight, the red dot in this game looks less crisp than delta force & cod
If they pull off this "net code" issue then this WILL redefine how a multiplayer shooter can work. This process IS groundbreaking. I was actually hoping they would not fix the issue that way bc of time and resources spent but the net engineering devs are going to be the biggest background hero's ever in gaming and they will not get the recognition they deserve yall have no idea.

Queue times, stream views, youtube views tell you everything you need to know about xdefiants player count. Its very low. Almost everyone ive talked to dropped the game off net code so if they can fix it enough it can definitely bring some people back but with the player count this low this fast it isnt looking good

You know instead of calling it xdefiant they could have called it Ubisoft legends. Or Ubisoft all stars.

I don't think any one actually thought it was dying considering how quick you can get a game.
I feel bad for this game because Ubisoft is dying slowly
rubin has to say everything is fine because if he said yup we might be getting sacked and we are as miserable as fk and the share prices are falling every ubi game is getting shit on right now and the investors want the owners of ubi out , that wouldnt go down to well , would it lol.
and with the state that ubi is in right now i did wonder if they are in a sticky place with xd because if they pull it the share prices will take another hit as confidence in the company drops again and the investors will get the pitch forks and torches out , but if they keep with xd and try to ride it out and improve the game and turn it around and that works then all is good but if it fails again the investors will be wanting to storm ubi and force a take over or something.
and im betting that ms have been having meetings about buying ubi but as 10cent own shares that could cause an issue for ms as ms see 10cent as a competitor.
but i have my fingers crossed that xd keeps going as it is fun when it works right , but in s3 there is a "bot mode" which is interesting and makes you wonder if they are going to start putting bots into the game to get there code upto par ?.

@@TheJakOfAllTradez They lost me some time ago by pulling a call of duty and caving to the streamers that want to break their space bar by jumping all the time and whenever possible.

Now there are other things that I would like to have in XDefiant that is part of my wishlist and many more. I wish there other ways to reward players in-game and during the match. Just not kill/point/score streaks though. It's better without it.

Everyone trashing on the game and not giving the devs time to fine tune .. How is Cod playing!!! Activision is crash landing and everyone knows it.. Xdefiant is flying in stormy weather... Give them time snow ball engine is a powerhouse engine when they learn the bugs of fps it causes

It takes me less than 30 seconds…… on a work day. I’m in the East Coast US using a PS5 with cross play on input based, where are you located to have such long wait times?

Try making a custom playlist, with at least 2 modes on, and not just look for only one gamemode. Some say it there is a bug where it works a lot better like that - worth a try?
edit: "And my WIFI is top tier" - not that it has anything to do with how fast you match make! And maybe you are just not that good with tech, and its fair enough!
but wired! If you play games, if you play competetive games, and specially if play twitch shooters like XDefiant! You want your connection to be wired if there is any way it can be done! You do not want wifi. You are putting yourself at an disadvantage, no matter how "top tier" it is.
So we got to wait till the end of season 2 for better hit rig 😞😞😞
