- Today, I'll tell you how my Eufy Cam 3C is working after almost 1 1/2 year of use and with the setup that I will show in the video, its battery is charged all the time that I haven't taken it down to be recharged since I installed it.

You should run the wire behind the mount and zip tie it cleaner install and will make it look like the solar panel and camera are one unit

As always, great video. I hope you’re getting some sort of kick back for the advertisements of the Wasserstein camera /solar panel mounts. I plan to buy some myself but I’m waiting for them to go on sale as for the camera 3C I purchased two use cameras for $100 each from Amazon about a year ago and so far they work phenomenal however I noticed on one of the cameras when I had it off-line, the spotlight came on for about 20 minutes. And even though I turned it on and off, there was no way I could turn off the spotlight in the app. For some reason I know it couldn’t have been connected to the previous owner because these have to be on the same network as the homebase, it was a weird moment and it was at 3 AM in the morning. It wasn’t due to motion detection because the light coming on down the hallway is what made me get up to check. Has anyone else experienced something like this when the camera is turned off from the app suddenly no reason has the spotlight on for about 20 minutes. And even though you go into the app to try to turn it on and off, try to turn the spotlight on and off it still doesn’t work I even held down the reset button.
I haven’t experienced it but I have experienced with eufys solar wall light cameras is that when you open up the eufy app, it’s IR will turn ON. Thanks for sharing your experience.
eufy has a USB C solar panel now, they also sell a USB C adapter for cameras that has a water proof seal.

Just got a generic NVR box that can run almost any POE/ONVIF camera. Was fighting with my Reolink NVR trying to get a bunch of POE dome generic ONVIF cameras I got cheap to work. So far every camera has video and audio, and my petcam the PTZ even works. Going to retry one of the Reolink 4k cameras again and see if I can get it working with it too but I'll probably leave it on the original box and use cheap cameras on the new box.
I have 4 cameras now on the Reolink and they work fine but wanted a dome camera and couldn't get them to work till now unless I hit the ip directly on my phone or pc.

@@A6tl996 I have the 8 camera Reolink with the 4k bullet cameras and the new cheapie is a generic Sovmiku SFYNVR-P-8 that was 110 shipped for just the NVR box, no cameras, no hard drive. The Reolink is way more polished with a better GUI, and the OEM cameras look and work great, it just doesn't like other brands cameras.
The new one recognized every camera I picked up cheap from Amazon plugged into my 5 port POE switch, and will use them plugged into the POE ports on the unit as long as you set the ip addresses properly as it uses the same private 72 etc the Reolink does. If they are the typical 192.168.0. 01 or whatever it has trouble picking them up directly plugged in. It does fine off the network and can see up to 16 cameras and is also 4k max.
So now I can try all the cheaper generic cameras and they will mostly work.
I have 3 dome cameras and a auto tracking HD pet camera that can use wired network and it sees all of them. It usually can't do the person /car detection unless you use their cameras or get lucky but the option is there if it likes your cameras. It will do generic motion detection fine though, just sets up differently, but works.
Can you test the cameras response to motion if the cameras are tilted 90 degrees?
Any tips on getting them to activate? I have a s340 about 2.5m high, aimed down only one click on the app, and I managed to drive a Toyota Prado past it without activating. Was only 10ft away

Not all of my Cam 3Cs sensitivities are the same. I have the four-camera kit. So far, I have only activated two cameras. I set them up in the same way together. At 30 feet, one triggers with the default sensitivity, the other only triggers when the sensitivity is bumped up two notches from the default sensitivity setting. Weird!
When Eufy called did they offer to replace your 4k Eufy CAM3? Did they mention how they intend to assist other customers?
They did offer to replace it but I declined. I know people that have complained, they have replaced it.

Yes, I do have a video or 2 in my channel setting up Ring camera with their gutter and wall mount.

good video. LH have you rechecked the 4k e1 outdoor poe to see if reolink has fixed the issues with motor panning noise and preset position drifting? I know you reviewed it a while ago. I've been using the non poe 5mp version since fall 2022 and it too has preset point drifting problems. its something with the panning mechanism inside. I have to recalibrate the positioning every day and still drifts. there is now a non poe dc powered 4k version e1 outdoor pro. it looks the same probably has the same bad pan tilt mechanism inside. any thoughts on testing the new argus track 4k solar/battery powered wifi cam? I'm thinking about replacing my 5mp e1 outdoor with that since my install location is far from any ac or dc power connection. it has dual lens like the trackmix and the bullet style 81ma. it might actually have the same sensors from those two cams. if it can tilt down when tracking vertically like the trackmix then that would be good. all the e1 series cams only track horizontally.
What happen it get wet on the bottom of the plug?

Would buying a glass cleaning product & then water disposal coat. RAINX or GYEON WATER repellent, or a water SPOT REMOVER for the longterm. Keeping GYEON G6 cleaner for the glass lenses clean use GYEON G6 perfect glass cleaner and a Magic Eraser sponge to keep lenses & solar panels clean

Does this mount have a swivel option for the solar panel so I can make sure it’s facing south ?

Try some alcohol to restore the solar panels .

Scrolling through recorded footage is very clunky. Need to download it to the phone or tablet to be able to properly scroll through the videos. Eufy needs to look into that coz it’s annoying. The other annoying bit is that on my older devices that are not capable of the higher resolutions, the higher resolution recordings does not down convert for playback for playback. How is so much effort put into all the new smart AI can still be too dumb to not be able to manage a little backwards compatibility?
I bought the same setup only to find that I needed a "BASE STATION!" ugh... that step should have been included in the video..

Battery life is abysmal. Doesn’t last a week.
This one has a smaller battery plug it is recording in 4K. Having a solar panel is a necessary setup.
Do you know of any batteries that last longer with such use?
Nope. You don't.
