Thanks to a local people Nishi-chan, I was able to wear a traditional clothing (hanten)and participate, which was a lot of fun❣️ Tokyo is small, so the scale of the festival was small. So my hometown (blue forest)has the best festivals in Japan I think😉 It will be held in the summer, so please come and see it❤hehe
Deep Japanese culture. So much to see and hear! Miley's introduction in fluent English helped to get the essense of the event. Many thanks to her! Miley's new business with turists will definitely succeed. 👍 I must also praise JE's filming in the fest ... super successful job. 👍
Sanja matsuri in May 1958 was most interesting. Wish I had had a guide like Miley to explain what was happening. Crowds were large and shrine carriers were loud and much more boisterous (maybe too much saki?) No police escort or control. Not as much vehicle traffic in 1958. Have 35MM pictures in house somewhere. Will try to upload if I find. Thank you JE for this video and asking the right kind of questions of Miley and her friends. I'm just catching up on your videos. I've been to Asakusa twice, but this was a totally different vibe, with the crowds (way more than an average day), the festival attire and the extra food and merchandise booths.

4:37 I'm pretty sure I figured out the purpose of the round plate under the moveable big drum ... it's a car turning table. So, he can drive his BMW vehicle forward into and out of the garage. 👍
I truly enjoyed wandering Asakusa with JE, Miley, and Cona. This video made me feel as if I were there with all three. The festival atmosphere was SO pleasant to share, and Miley's on-time insights really turned this adventure into a very memorable event. Thank you, Miley. I had wondered what was happening at Miley's former shop, and I agree with Miley's observation about the shop. There was no reason to close after Miley and government subsidies (that kicked-in when Miley opened her business) benefited the owners so much more than their empty shop is benefiting them now. They know that Miley had turned that empty street into a major Asakusa tourist destination. Their silly decision has resulted in a major set-back for Asakusa. It was also fun joining Miley, Cona, and JE at dinner. One of my intentions when I visit Tokyo is to eat monja. Now, because of Miley's intelligent guidance, I know exactly what to do. Without Miley's tutorial, I would have been totally lost. Finally, I like to compare Asakusa with 1910 Paris because of the many outdoor cafes, the beautiful religious architecture, and, of course, the scenic river. Their decision to end their evening on the river-walk, viewing the passing boats and the gorgeous sights, was just a wonderful conclusion for a funfilled day.
Sorry I was late. Will watch it again. Since I miss a lot. I've been to Hell too. But did not stayed at Hell Hotel. Just passed by when I was in the Norwegian military recruit school.
@@locomotion666 As @VaultBoi said, her shop was closed down where she worked at and she lost her job about a month ago and got depressed over it. Her friend in the shop she's at now, gave her some help and offered her to work at his shop behind the bar, where they named the bar Miley's Bar. So yes, from all the hell she's gone through, she still has that gorgeous smile!
