Gate 2008 IT Q. Let R (A, B, C, D) be a relational schema with the following functional dependencies : A → B, B → C, C → D and D → B. The decomposition of R into (A, B), (B, C), (B, D).Find out whether this decomposition is dependency preserving and gives lossless join.Please explain the solution
Thanks for the Video, very impressive. When discussing normalisation we talk of Contains no transitive dependencies, how do we explain this in detail as to what this statement means? could you please give me an answer sir? Thanks in advance
ABDE---->C is ABDE depends on C , if the values would have different in C then it would be correct as well as per my understanding because ABDE did not repeat anywhere, if this could have repeated then the dependency holds good in that case too. It was a question & I got the answer as well :)
Hi Ashutosh,Thank you so much, would like to hear more from you. We upload more topics every week, Please subscribe this channel for best GATE tutorials. :)
You explain way much better than my prof, in future can you please state everything in English some of the words you speak in Hindi that's uncatchable.
Sir, this video is very helpful for me. Can you please upload remaining video of Database subject i.e. Relational algebra, SQL with gate questions. Thank u sir..
Sir I have a question that at 3:05 how is that possible (BC to A)...I mean at the value of BC i.e (a 3) the value of A is changed (2). How it is valid. It haven't the same value sir I'm confused 😕 plz tell me the solution
There should only be same values for the same set of values in BC to A functional dependency. In BC (2 3), all corresponding values to it in A is (a) and for the values (a 3) the corresponding value in A is (2) which holds good for a functional dependency as there is no other occurrence of (a 3) in BC corresponding to which we have different value in A.
Sir your teaching style is awesome in automata because this is your original style but in these lectures mixing of language got trouble to me . Please sir teach in only hindi languge
