this made my day. seeing the two people who made me get a forge anvil and go to classes learning the craft of blacksmithing, making something together.
This is cool. Too bad the logistics wouldn’t work to have them do a project with the Black Bear Forge guy? He probably is my number 1 teacher. I love watching all of them. You guys could never make enough cool projects. I would still watch them all.
I love watching Torbjörn work. He doesn't waste a hammer blow. He certainly is methodical and calm. I wouldn't be surprised if he iron his socks. I have a blade smithing friend, Cam Plunkett at Stout Made, who is the same way. Beautiful work.
You don't know how much respect I have for torbjorn his work, consider it as a privilege to work with him, for the time I don't have the money to sponsor him because of medical issues. But I damn love his work greetings from Belgium I wish I where in your shoes. And as usual very nice work beautiful hamer.

I have to tell myself to slow down all the time. Its hard to be that why when your under pressure but you have to tell yourself slow down and do it right first time. Loved watch you work with Torbjorn he's a great guy and epic blacksmith.
You are absolutely right about taking your time with forging projects. When I first started blacksmithing I would make lots of mistakes until I started to slow down and work more methodically. Nice hammer.
You are indeed a very lucky man!!!!! To work alongside of such a knowledge craftsman is a true privilege. I totally agree with your comments at the end of the video, I am a new subscriber!!! Your biggest asset is to be able learn to use the tools at hand to accomplish what YOU want want to do. Best wishes, keep learning and you will succeed!!
loving this guys. Too busy to forge lately but it is satisfying to watch the 2 of you having a good day when so many are trapped at home. Wish i could have been there.
To me....what an amazing opportunity to learn and Forge with a "ThunderBear" ! Great watch too. Lol i musta backed up n rewatched st least 25 times this bit or that bit. This will remain a favorite video for a long time. Not to discount your work in the least...as i watch everything you do as well Mr Nills and do so enjoy your work. 🙏 Blessed day now and well wishes Sir Crawford out ⚒️🧙♂️
Surprise two great profesionaly in this job together great armony of Sweden, spirit that-s a golden show respect for your philosophy, all the best for all two.
Awesome seeing you two forge together! Also kinda interesting listening to you both speaking Swedish. I always find it interesting listening to other languages even if I don’t understand them.
Nice job! I think the striking hammer (sledge hammer) I use Has a 26” handle to give you an idea. The anvil height of a typical hand hammer users anvil along with the added height of a top tool is a little too hiqh for a striker wielding a striking hammer. You probably felt that as you struck and maybe you and Torbjorn discussed it. A typical height for a striking anvil is 24”. Im guessing Torbjorn mostly works alone and doesn’t hand strike many hammers so a striking anvil isn’t a high priority in his shop. My goal as a striker is to be like a power hammer or drop hammer and deliver a vertical blow to the top tool. One thing I do is to keep an eye on the contact surface of the struck end of the top tool to see how vertical my blows are. You get to watch yourself in the video, a great way to check it out. I hadn’t watched any of your videos until I saw Torbjorn’s name mentioned in the title of this video. I’m going to subscribe to see what you’re up to. Thanks for the video.

I agree with you. We were just having fun playing around, i had never striked before so we just briefly tested it out etc. You are very welcome to my channel!
Please go easy on my ignorance but what makes the fullering behind the face give it the “proper shape”? What is the benefit? Thanks!

Good question... i can really only think of two reasons.. first one is the beuty of it. Sencond is to move the face further away from the handle without making it slimmer. Imagine we didnt use the fullers, the face of the hammer would be alot closer to the grip, so the fullers are a way to move the faces of the hammer away from the handle slightly
Torbjorn is an incredibly talented smith. I love his videos. But don't sell your own talents short. You are quite the axe maker. After watching some of your videos, I want to get the proper tooling to try some axes.

I couldn't understand a word, but I can tell you two seem to work together really well!! I was super impressed how quick you had the sledge ready!
Thank you very much!
You know you're moving up in the world when you're forging with ThunderBear!!! Great work.

Greetings from Ukraine, Nils and Torbjörn! Nice video, good job👍
Man that must have been an awesome expirations looks great!
Great video, like Nil's Dunder Mifflin shirt😂
Awesome job guys your the best! Thank you!
I like the trick in the beginning with the flat railroad track as a brace to draw straight.
He is an expert & great metal artist. I envy you that you can see him face to face.
Very cool, thanks for sharing
My 2 favourite smiths in one shop, collaborating.
Great video. It is great to watch him work, you are right how methodical Torbjorn is. I would love the opportunity to work in person with him.

Wow that was good, how good to work with Torbjorn I would love to do that, nice hammer too.
Dude this is an awesome collab!
Just a couple dwarves doing their thang.. 🤟
A hammer made by Nils and the Thunder Bear. Thor himself would be happy with that hammer!
Lol
Nice collaboration good to see. Nils is useing safty squints
I just suscribed and i'm very happy to see your videos , thanks
Thank you very much!
Nice!
I’m Jealous, but I am happy for you getting to work with the Thunder Bear.
Wait you have a south park tattoo, I love it
Love your collabs. Would like to see you forging an axe together again.
Oh its comming!
AWESOME!!!🔥⚒💪🏻
Nice team 👍🇮🇳 💯 work 💪
Love the video. Can I ask what brand and size that small power hammer is in the corner?
Abno
@ thank you.
Please go easy on my ignorance but what makes the fullering behind the face give it the “proper shape”? What is the benefit? Thanks!

@ Thank you! It does look good for sure. I hadn’t thought of spacing the face further out though. Thanks again.
Is there a reason you don’t use a Brian brazeal style striking anvil? I use mine almost every day and love it!!
Look at you two
A couple of besties
If you don't mind me saying, that sledge hammer handle is a way to long for that work.
Result looks fine. It was the first time i have ever seen a big hammer been used with arms crossed in front of the body. Weird :)
Looked very awkward. It actually bothered me to watch him swing it in that fashion.
Torbjörn said its drop forged! Haha!
Thunder Bear & Island Stick 🙂
My friend the bear what do you charge for a 4 lbs rounding hammer
When punching the hole for the handle why is Torbjörn flipping the billet around after every strike?
The student and the teacher.
"Drop forged" absolutely classic!
I'd pay to be Torbjorn's striker for a day
Two great blacksmiths working
Important from older to younger….subtitles in finish or luxemburgish not needed, cheers
Torbjorn is an incredibly talented smith. I love his videos. But don't sell your own talents short. You are quite the axe maker. After watching some of your videos, I want to get the proper tooling to try some axes.
Thanks alot!
Like to Torbjörn.
Also, a shorter handle on the hammer would have made that a lot easier
You REALLY have to trust a guy swinging a sledge hammer while you're holding the tool.
Är Torbjörn hallänning?
can someone please put subtitles on this?
i would love to know what Nils and Torbjorn are saying.
Were only talking about pizza, no worries!
I guess TA had enough crawdads. lol
Wouldn’t all of that have been a lot easier under the big power hammer?
Safety glasses, man lol. Forge scale is no bueno in the eye
Is this the hammer for ragnarök Netflix? Haha
someone please get this striker some eye protection.
Totally agree
