    That Jalen Hurts touchdown run where hes not touched: Jalen admitted it was a fake pre snap check to make the linebacker go into pass protect mode. Commanders probably also thought it would be dumb if they ran it, like JT did. Thats the point. Thats why it worked.

      That plus if the eagles just let the backside D lineman go then its 6 on 6 and Jalen getting to the 2nd level. The check on the lead draw was a dummy check to a pass play then he checked again to the draw. When he says reload and spins his hands he went back to the draw. If I had to guess it was to make wagner audible to coverage to get him out of the play for the draw.

Hall of fame center retires and they don’t miss a beat. His o lines always looks as good as they do in large part because he sets them up to succeed.

      I watch JT break down other QBs. I dont think its that ppl are biased towards Hurts, but I do believe theres a spotlight on his processing that everyone has their antennas up to. Like a RB who always picks the wrong hole. Like the WR whos routes arent very sharp. When analyzing them, people will subconsciously look towards these things that they might not do with others. I dont think JT is biased. Its just this is what is widely known from Hurts and some of that is his fault, the rest of it is sports. In sports, people are given certain deficiencies and those stick with them unless they go above and beyond to get rid of them.

    About your questions regarding Jalen checking into a run against an unfavorable box, Saquon commented afterward that some of their checks were bluffs because they saw in the second game WAS changing up when they checked out of a play. That would explain this situation -a fake check to entice Wagner into dropping because he anticipated a pass check.

    46:20 - part of the reason Saquon had this great run is how the WRs block in the Eagles run game. Right about the point I give in that timestamp, AJ Brown is about to engage in a block that takes out multiple defenders - that helps to spring the play. And then further downfield Jahan Dotson is running interference so that the players chasing Barkley can’t get close enough to stop him.
    Saquon got golf carts as a gift for each of the O linemen; he probably owes the WRs some token gift because they have blocked for him all season.

    23:39 Jalen is expecting Dickerson to block Wagner, and Gainwell to block luvu, or vice versa. What he doesn’t expect is for luvu to come in unrushed. Hurts made the correct move by scrambling immediately. I’d rather him do something that he knows he can do, rather than letting luvu blast him just so he can get a slant to AJ. I understand that hurts rolls out early and too much at times, but it was a necessity here, otherwise he’d be flattened like a pancake.

    Did some digging on the 3rd quarter QB Draw. JT the original play was the QB draw. When Jalen comes to the line he audibles and then when seeing Bobby Wagner’s reaction he reloaded the QB draw. I think they were actually just all over the Commanders defense. Jalen saw something that told him 54 was dropping. It was very quickly snapped after this. Watch it on the TV broadcast you’ll see!

  • @jakethornton4856

    On that Qb Lead Draw play I thought it was pretty obvious what the Commanders were doing on defense. They were running a box coverage on the trips with Lattimore in MEG coverage on AJ and Luvu and Chin bracketing Saquon with whoever didnt take Saquon helping Lattimore on any inside cut from AJ. You can tell the trips is being covered by a box because they are giving free releases to everyone and Lattimore is in press man on AJ. This is a really common defense and knowing the rules and leverage of all the players is why they had Jurgens block chinn instead of Luvu is they wanted to make sure the Commanders cudnt force Jalen to run up the middle where Wagner cud get him. This is a really popular Nick Saban special but tbh Idk who invented it or made it popular.

The good news is that their roster is better and of course Fangio is a massive upgrade vs last time. The line at PHL +1.5 is pretty good and reflects how close the teams are together with the experience, creativity of Reid and company and Spaggs to bring the exotic looks which gives them an overall edge. First part of video was great. When he started complaining about the play of the center on those sacks, he was wrong for a couple reasons. Dickerson is not the starting center, so the problems are not systemic. Also, my man could barely walk and was gutting it out for the team. I did agree when he started to hint that the offensive coordinator should be smarter with play calling, because he knows the injury and he knows Washington will target the middle of the line. If the injuries continue to nag our center and guard, the Eagles will need to be smarter in play calls and protection schemes.

    Out of curiosity, why can’t they fix some of these issues in the next two weeks? Like you have the time to install a few new plays and adjust a route concept or two on some of these plays, no? Or at least practice the plays in your book saved for an aggressive blitzing defense. I just don’t understand why the couldn’t fix some of these things. It’s like coming off a bye week and they are very familiar with Spags’ style

    • @brendancurtin679
      @brendancurtin679 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      They can, but Spags also has 2 weeks to come up with ways to confuse Hurts and to bait him into bad decisions. One of Hurts's problems is if he's not super comfortable with how a play is going, he holds the ball too long and can start to do things he's comfortable with, which makes him predictable. And a good way to make him uncomfortable is for his pre-snap read to be wrong (and to bring pressure, which Spags does better than almost anyone). Just as the Eagles will do stuff on offense in the SB that they haven't put on tape before, so will the Chief's D.
      I am a little worried about what Andy Reid will come up with on offense that we haven't seen. But I am a little more confident in the Reid and Mahomes vs. Fangio chess match than I am in the Spags vs. Hurts and Moore chess match. Spags worries me. Almost as much as the Chiefs' 12th man. Almost. But Spags is a genius at bringing pressure and doing so in exotic and creative ways. And that is something Hurts and our offensive scheme still aren't great at countering.

      @@brendancurtin679 Hurts’ bad habits and comfort with things I totally understand not being able to fix. But throughout that analysis one constant theme was “not giving Jalen answers” for blitz/pressure. Which to me screams play call and design which I think is more fixable with an extra week of prep. I mean everyone talks about how good Reid is coming off a bye I don’t understand why Moore and Jalen can’t make play design and adjustment fixes with extra prep time. But I’m also a armchair football person lol
      I will say Spags does worry me two but two things give me hope. 1. Jalen has done pretty well against Spags in his career and so he’s familiar with what’s coming and 2. There are opportunities to run on that defense which is kind of our specialty. I mean even Joe Mixon avged 4 yards a carry with that awful O line against them. So I think Saquon with a fully rested O line will do some good things. As long as Jalen can be turnover free and keep us out of 3rd and long most of the time I think we’ll be fine. Also that secondary tends to play very aggressive which means opps for Brown, Smitty, and Dallas against CBs that like to grab

    • @TK-ev
      @TK-ev 8 วันที่ผ่านมา
