The mclaren engineer’s excuse for the understeer is bs. All Sennas seem to suffer from this issue. I remember watching Chris Harris review the Senna and he complained about understeer a lot. This reason is Mclaren for some reason tends to put relatively narrow front tires on their cars compared to their competitors. I don’t know why mclaren does this especially on a hardcore track car like the senna. For comparison the senna has 245 front tires while the Porsche GT2 RS has 265 fronts.
Henry Catchpole said the same thing; too much understeer. Senna has a 70mm tire/3 inch wheel width stagger, should have had a 60mm tire/2.5 inch wheel with stagger; 265/35r19 on 19x9.5 and 325/30r20 on 20x12.
This understeer is factory induced because they’re afraid people are going to kill themselves with it. You can easily fix this with a track alignment which unfortunately for this test they didn’t do. Other track focused cars such as GT2RS and Pista have the same issues from factory (see Robert Mitchell at Apex Racing videos).
@@LeopardLX Yep, safety for the street and getting used to the car on the track and with an alignment just enough front end grip to not be annoying. My suggested tire/wheel combo also a option for the mod minded people.
Why did they make it understeery when no one is going to push this car on the streets! The McLaren owners who take these on track are not all idiots who can’t drive(a few exceptions...) Seems odd and ruins the experience for those who can really drive. Still bonkers though :)
Another great ‘Pro Racer’s’ video. But Harris is right about the Senna - not a great road car, and if you want to be fast at the track buy a real GT3 racer. It’s cheaper and faster.
@@andresantel2137 I haven't seen any, anywhere. But my point was that it is a track focused car, but what does that mean? Who is going to use it on the road for anything other than going to a track? So why not make it full on track and people will just have to endure some discomfort until they get to the track. Otherwise, they risk it being compromised in both settings. The giveaway is that they did a track version of it as well.
Your presentation, driving, knowledge, and overall personality are greatly appreciated. Undoubtedly, these are my favorite car reviews. Cheers!
Andy does the best reviews. No annoying fluff.
Most underrated car review channel, hands down. Excellent work sir!
This is a fantastic channel. Andy is an excellent driver and presenter.
That'd be pretty groovy if you get her back at the end of it's tour, slap the track alignment and some new tires on her and hit a sub 2m lap.
You know its been awhile you guys. You still there I really enjoyed your content!
So they custom stitched the headrest but couldn’t be bothered to put some new tires on it or align it
Love these vids, this channel needs way more subscribers!
The quality of the review is excellent. From someone who knows how to drive. Great job i.e. Andy and the channel.
That spec is the best looking Senna I’ve ever seen 👍🏻
Actually, McLaren does go with the wheel-well vents. 600LT and upcoming 765LT both feature wheel-well vents.
Bring these back!
You guys haven’t tested a zl1 1le on your track.
A real shame there was rain

I love this channel. Hopefully I can meet you someday Andy when we hold our Autocross event their
Will you be at the cabin fever indoor show April 2/3 in Naugatuck Ct?
What happened to you? Why no more videos? I hope everything is ok
Hmm, pretty sure I still have that Tag that Senna is wearing at the end in a box somewhere.
Very good presentation. That is one fast car.
Kind regards.
This channel is epic!!!!

A trend in a lot of cars these days

Seems like these cars understeer even with the track alignment? Pretty much every journalist who has taken one out on track has complained about it.
ok, glycerine.
But regardless of the understeer, it’s beaten just about every lap record it has attempted 🤷♂️
Ridiculous lap, even with the braking issue in 6. Hard to believe how quick that car is.
Very impressive.

Holy cow those brakes!
still waiting for a C7 Z06
Zl1 1le next!
Automatic like.
Excellent channel. Wow
HOW THE HELL THIS CHANNEL STOP POSTING!!?!?!?!?!??!?!😪😪😪😪

It's McLarens most track focused car and they set it up for the street?
earthstick yeah, don’t understand that either
If they didn't set it for the street the ride will be rougher than it is, McLaren realized that very few owners will actually use the Senna on track
Let me ask you, how many Senna have you seen that had been actually used on track?

@@earthstick McLaren made it to be the fastest road car on track, McLaren just can't just set it to track settings since it's still a road car
It doesn't make sense that it would need a "track" setup, to be performed by McLaren engineers. That's no longer street-car category.
