Redcat Dukono Pro - 1st run 2S and 3S AND First Breaks!!!

- This is a feisty little truck, especially on 3S! I never got the chance to really start bashing and getting my alignment right on the ramps and then I was done! Concerned with the 2 breaks on it's inaugural run but I won't rush to judgement too soon! Lets see if there is a pattern first.

When I first started watching the video I immediately clicked on the comment button to tell you that your tires were on the wrong direction but then I quickly realized you had your body on backwards very cool
It was an accident at first but once it was like that, it reminded me of Backwards Bob so i just did the 2S run like that!

That happen to me but it was on the back redcat is great though they sent me a replacement part got it 2 days later love there customer service

Also fill the shock tower gaps wth epoxy to help with the design flaw of it. They break right where there is a extra hole by the mounting ears.
Use tekno camber links for the sct410 and traxxas tod ends and the turnbuckle issue is resolved
those are same length??
these things are short, feel the tekno would be wider.. but if you have confirmed it, i will look into it after I try what I have on hand
Yes it works I used them with traxxas rod ends if you want a video of them installed I will show you

Body was backwards.. didn't realize it until pis were in and decided to give a shout out to Backwards Bob from Monster Jam.. while on 2S.. fixed it on 3S

no, it would be a bit small.. may physically fit but wouldn't look too good i don't feel
For the price people would be better off getting the arrma granite blx. Thing is a beast!
i have the Big Rock and i DO agree with the Granite being a little beast for 300 but keeping the mindset on Redcat, the MT10E is 350 with a 3S lipo on my site, same price as the granite almost and less then the Big Rock crew cab with the same lipo included and the MT10E is just as durable as the Arrmas if not better in some areas.. Like the center dif option, Steel drive train, LED lights and more stout wheelie bar. I like the Dukono, and the bundles I have make it a better price, but in the end, all 3 of the above mentioned are better trucks out the box.

And I found all the aluminum parts to fit the truck before redcat released them. It will break sterering knuckles on the rear like mad, so I suggest getting those in aluminum all around as well as c hubs
where are they outside of redcat? I haven't found the cross referenced aluminum.

People don't realize redcat is a rebranded Chinese RC. Himoto is the parent company. Parts are way cheaper for all the Red Cat stuff if you check their site and find the clone. Just did full alum on a blackout for 50 bucks
I ordered a truck similar to the Caldera MT. It doesn't have a slipper clutch I found out. Will it eat the drive cups away, too, on 3s? Now I'm concerned. It's a DF Models Bighammer 4. Looks like a hopped up caldera with alloy bottom plate and a bit longer although maybe the Caldera in its recent version got longer, too, not sure. Planing on brushless conversion, since many people say it's a "3s - all day long truck". Should I cancel the order?

I know... I mention it in the video too. It was an accident after switching the battery but i left it... "Backwards bob style"
I break those front dive axles like they are tooth picks, 2s only and not hard on the truck at all. Put a set of short course wheels on it and never broke another one in the five or so packs I put throught it that way. The stock tire must be too heavy or something and the axles are weak

yeah i know.. .i addressed it in the video... Backwards Bob! I caught that i did it after i put the clips in... but thought i would leave it until i needed to change the lipo over to 3S
Do you know if 5mos later Redcat has made a production change? That turnbuckle link is as thin as a toothpick. Looks like a big pain/design flaw to me..
they have upgrades coming for it. Should be here soon.. I think that is one of them and also one reason I swapped to the Volcano upgrades that will fit it!
How do I run 3s on mine? I heard that you need to replace some things on before you can, I just want to know what to replace
Keep in mind that the Redcat Racing Dukono Pro is rated for 2S max, as stated in the instruction manual. It's a good truck but not really meant for 3S.
If you unplug the fan on esc you can run 3s
Why is the body on backwards?
I put it on backwards when putting in the 2S and thought I would get a little Backwards Bob action!

I accidentally put it on backwards but left it for the 2S run in honor of Backwards Bod from Monster Jam!
What do you mean by 2S and 3d are you talking about batteries?
Yes, 3s lipo has More Voltage than a 2s lipo there for the vehicle gets more power making the motor go faster.
Is the Dukono 12mm hubs like the volcano etc?
12mm hexes, the hubs, axles and knuckles are not the same though

@@Thesocialgarage with the volcano arms.. I wanted to keep the stock arms but only did that to make the knuckles work and test the compatibility. The Arms are a little thin stock, and I had no issues with my son's Volcano in aluminum so i figured I would just leave it. The hub carriers are a different width, don't mount with a hinge pin like the Volcano ones and the knuckle mount is not the same
@@NPCRC Thanks! My son is getting the brushed for Christmas, and I'm trying to stock up on the obvious fail items so when he breaks it 20 minutes later, I'm prepared! I have some volcano parts also, so nice to know in a pinch, it will keep him running. Whats your website? Do you have the Dukono parts in yet, no one seems to stock them.
@@Thesocialgarage The parts are available, but the upgrades are not. My site is listed in the video descriptions and I do have a Black Friday sale going on as well. Some gets better on Fri-Monday but I can honer more then I can advertise. Number is on the site as well so feel free to call and and I can price you on the Dukono and maybe put a beginner pack together like I do with some of my customers. Some arms, screws, knuckles and things that could need replaced sooner then others and at a discounted, add on price.
How are the temps on 2s and 3s

Nice video boss! Mine Dukono loves snapping them knuckles and adjustable links. Also I am running 2wd as well with the same problem!
warranty center shaft if you also had the issue. More claims they have the faster they can address it. I will be showing my Rep this video as well!

that sucks! Sorry to hear! Alot of guys have had issue's breaking things on the Dukono. It is a good entry level truck but it is just not tough enough for me or my boys!

Backwards body on 2S! I am hoping they are.. Alot of potential to take over the baseline model's.. Can't see this be a pattern though

i am use to driving with a c enter diff but i have to train myself to drive with a locked spur all over again as all of mine are with center except the Big Rock and it has a slipper at least

I accidentally put it on backwards and decided to leave it.. I follow Monster Jam and "Backwards Bob" was one of my kids favorite (top 4) and a normal image to me in my household... So leaving the body backwards was fine with me in the moment. Sorry to annoy!

That's why I am here... seeing if it is a pattern. Plenty of non fragile, non junk as well!

Breaking that easy at a 280.00 price point really sucks. Nope I wouldn't buy it.
