Im in zone 4 and it does well in my lawn and garden I have it doing best in half sun half shade Full shade it wont flower but it becomes more of a ground cover ;) more moderate moisture and sun shade :) i love it is beautiful and great for pollinators
Which zone are you at? And location if ok to share? I'm at Seattle and full sun here really still means ....... not much sun for many plants. I can't use this information without knowing where you are saying they would get baked in full sun :)
I have three varieties mixed together, Burgundy Glow, Chocolate Chip and Black Scallop. Mine are growing in a part shade area in zone 5b. They are growing like weeds 😂, but way more pretty. I have them growing around a stepping stone path.
Wow! What a beautiful ground cover in the spring!
L👀ks pretty spectacular!

It grows well in western Washington.
Are these just "Ajuga Reptans" or are they "Ajuga Reptans Chocolate Chip'?
What groundcovers you think are better than this plant?
There are some varieties with very attractive foliage, so they are more of a year round treat than the ordinary green type.
Purple leaved ones are the best look interesting when not in flower
