If you thought weather there was bad, the Tararua stretch on north island was way crazier. The wind was howling through from on side as i was walking along a ridge, rain pouring down, the wind would form updrafts where it was pushed up the ridge and force the rain to go UPWARDS. Crazy stuff.
What a great video! Once again it really shows what the TA is like! Sometimes i find it just to difficult to explain to family what some of the 'walking' you're doing is like. So i just show them your video's :) (Also really fun to see Bob in the video, we met him in blue lake hut but he went to see family before richmonds! Nice to see he still went in there)
Oh so funny that you met Bob. The next day he was hanging out at the next hut in his speedo lol. Yeah even videos just can't convey the sheer steepness of the trail, I always get frustrated at that.

Hey Jack, great video. It was a awsome time in the Richmonds with our little group, very intense. Thanks very much for linking my channel. 😁👍
So great walking with ya, hope to walk with you again!

Where is the Amazing Miss Marvel? Jack , Shannon can't just disappear without letting us know she's OK
She didn't want to do this stretch haha.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Jack! Appreciate you my friend 🫶🏻 God Bless 🙏🏻
Richmond’s were some of my favorite sections of the TA
100%, i think these, cascade saddle were my favorite.
Visited the whole North Island, now I’m inspired to go south 😁
So worth it, even better nature according to everyone I met.
@@QuadzillaHikes up north, you HAVE to camp at Spirits Bay and Porth Jackson at the tip of the Coromandel 😁

Best view on the hike so far. What happened to Marvel?
She didn't want to do this section.
You are not supposed to fly Drones in NZ national parks.
Not my drone. Richmonds are also not a national park.
