Mind and soul 3: Education is care, not customer service

Inspired by a document circulating on the internet, Dr. Wandia examines what is wrong with the application of branding and venture capitalism to education. She argues that the belief that more expensive education is necessarily better education is naive. In fact, it's not education. It's a luxury item.

Waah. Life is so disillusioning to the extent where these truths Dr. Wandia talks about in education, hurt. Knowing that as a graduate I also faced the same demoralising experience in the work space. And I had to go back to the drawing board becauseI had to admit, I knew nothing. For me it was more from an idealistic POV. Which is also ignorance on my part as a young person thinking the "world" is so eager to have me and what I could contribute. Four years down the line now and I'm still grasping at straws.
