  • The recent visit to Kenya by the head of Britain's commonwealth raised several conversations about the narratives and historical consciousness underlying Kenya's public life. In the first part of the conversation with Dr. Ogada, we discuss the king's visit and the frenzy around the apology that was not given. The second part of the conversation discusses the same issues with regards to carbon credits.

This has been the most eye-opening conversation I have listened to in a long time. Truly, as Ogada says, history is a harsh teacher which demands payment and does not forgive.

Couldn't wait for this episode on the choreography of the king's visit, and it was worth the wait. Dr Ogada on point with the duplicity in the apology narrative.

The West is pushing the reparations story because they know we aren't organised enough to receive it. Black Americans have a $1T spending power but are materialistic and individualistic so it wouldn't be spent on building up our respective communities, it would be spent superficially. I live in the West & they are 10 steps ahead of us. We need to organise and plan for 20 years down the track, not just for tomorrow. Thank you for your brilliant conversations! I hope you gain traction quickly.

Before they started indoctrinating future Prime Ministers and Presidents, they started with the ROYAL FAMILIES, and the strategy is more clear in Southern Africa to this day, they educate the royals of Lesotho and Eswatini. Both King Letsie (Lesotho) and Mstwati (Eswatini) were educated in the UK. Simon Gikandi once aptly described Jomo Kenyatta as an Afro-Victorian, which tells you about his mindset.

Slavery or colonialism has never ended. Its face has changed throughout the centuries but its fundamental principle remains the same. Whites pretended that they transfer political power to Africans in Africa, but in reality they appointed African puppets that they control. So settler colonialism is currently structured as follows: White Europeans --> African elites (political, military and industrial elites) ---> African middle class who benefit from the system and agree with the elites --> native Africans who do not adhere to any system in place.

@25:00" UK proposed the ban on trading ivory except for culturally significant items." Keep in mind ivory is also used by South East nations as aphrodisiacs. So the UK was basically cutting off China from sourcing the ivory directly from Africa and instead they have to get it from the UK in the name of cultural items. And the UK, by cutting off China's sourcing and controlling almost all wildlife conservancies where they breed the elephants and rhinos, they have a monopoly on Ivory.

Edward VIII did not run away, he was sent packing by the British Parliament, because Parliament (throuugh British intelligence) found out, Edward VIII was pro-Nazi; Hitler had promised him, that if he collaborated, he'd to upgrade the Windsors (originally Saxe Corburg Gotha from Germany) from being Constitutional Monarchy (ceremonial monarchy) back to their original position as Absolute Monarchy. Parliament was not about to have it so they concocted the lie about some grand love story with Wallis, and the king was booted out. His family went with the lie because they didnt' want to be booted out like their Russian, German, Romanian cousins have been booted after the 1st World War.

Brilliantly written. I remember reading his pro Nazi stance but did not connect the dots.
