Beautiful playing. The baroque lute is quickly becoming my favourite genre of music, it relaxes me, and puts my mind to peace. Thank you for this wonderful performance and I hope you can record many more.

The two pieces were likely written at the exact same time, so I would be skeptical of claiming one being inspired by the other. They met themselves LONG after these pieces would have been written. It's entirely possible they were both drawing inspiration from the same source, or they just happened to write similar sounding music as they were both writing music in the same region in the exact same time period. But it's silly to look at this and try to point to one being inspired by the other.
Hi Bernhard, very beautiful and expressive performance. I've a question, what's the string length?.. the instrument seems little.. 9 tied frets only.. 66 cm perhaps?
Abso"lute"ly beautifully played ;-). I love the sound of your Lute. Who built your Lute? What builder is it modelled after? I'm in a position where I'm about to enter the world of Lute playing on the Baroque Lute. I'm simply in love with the sound and compositions for the Baroque Lute. Are you using plain gut strings? I do hope you have the time to answer. If not it's ok and thanks for your sharing and playing.
Thank you, the lute was built by Hendrik Hasenfuss. It is based on a lute by J.B. Weigert. I use gut strings from time to time but these days I mostly use plain synthetic ('multifilament') strings which work very well.

why is it so beautiful? :'(
Felipe Espinola It touches the soul, does it not? :')
+Felipe Espinola I think it's a lot to do with the A tuned to 415 and not the current standard of 440. The flatter tone gives it a more natural sound.
+Ryan Mackner Why do you think 415 is flatter?
nebo vas it's a half step down, A would look like G#. It's just naturally flat
