      @@TheSchwarztrinker I ask because having watched a few demos, it looks to be a fairly haphazard process, as you have to loosen each string completely, and then eyeball the new saddle position. Is this the case?

      @@peachmelba1000 It could get annoying if you change string gauges a lot. I don't find it difficult, but of course it's not as straightforward as adjusting a Tele

    Happy to see a Strandberg Boden video that's not just chugging and shredding all over the place with high-gain or crunch tones. I played the graphite color version just the other day at a local GC store, and I was in love with how light and ergonomic is was, and how good it sounded. I was very tempted to get one, but I've spent too much money on basses already and need to pace myself a little. I'm sure there's a Strandberg Boden in my future though--just a matter of time.

    • @peachmelba1000
      @peachmelba1000 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strandberg (mostly) sets up their multiscale fretboards so the nut, or fret zero, is the only point which is perpendicular to the center line of the neck. It also appears that they only employ a 12mm difference in scale length between the lowest and highest strings. It is quite subtle.

    • @drmeerkat

      I took the plunge and love it, it gives you a flat surface for your thumb to glide across and stay with good form, but you can wrap your thumb around too and it’s not uncomfortable. Really isn’t anything to be worried about. Actually reduces fatigue. Also 4.5 lbs is so light you can keep it on and not regret it in your shoulder later. Stainless frets were perfectly dressed and set up it kinda feels like cheating it’s so blasted easy to play. I have the original 6 trem and it has suhr pickups which sound great. I actually bought it because I needed a trem I could get moving and not need a locking nut. You can’t quite go full Floyd insane, but most musical uses are fine and it stays in tune freakishly well. Also notable they sell any part you’d need if anything wears out for a reasonable price.

    Very cool guitar! First impression only major question I have is: WHY, given the multi-scale, fanned-fret design, are the pickups not also on axis with the radius to the frets and string lengths. Natural harmonics would benefit with aligned pickups to the multi-scale scale length!!! E.g., the neck single pickup pole pieces should be exactly aligned half the distance between the 12th fret and the bridge (...the 24th fret location)!

    It looks ultra functional and very nice to play. The design is unusual, but appears to suit the purpose of creating an almost perfect playing experience without impediments. I must say though, as a bit of a traditionalist, I still prefer the look of my Strats and Les Pauls. How a guitar looks has been important to the instrument for hundreds of years, since the days of the Baroque guitar. But if it’s easier to play it’s worth a try as a guitar that’s easy to play is a guitar that makes you play better. I’m interested!

    • @clemensmoeller4549
      @clemensmoeller4549 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a multi scale. It's just that the first fret is straight and from there on towards the higher frets they are fanned. And I think it has a 25,5 inch scale length on the low e and 25 inch on the high e so it's not very obvious.

      I think it’s awesome! The new Prog pickups feel great actually. Really impressed by them, but the single coils still sound cool! I think they’re low on stock everywhere at the minute, but I’d highly recommend trying the EndurNeck if you get the chance. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it really works for me!

    Just wish the demo playing didn’t have so many effects.
