    This looks like the foundations of holodecks being created, Awesome!

      True. A big room with some AR glasses would make for some cool laser tag games.

      Its a fitting franchise to push that technology forward then! (Although I'll be a happy man if we never see a holodeck episode again. Those things where generall insufferable)

    So... Star Trek writers invented the holodeck and now Star Trek is actually being made on the closest thing we have to a holodeck! Awesome.

    If this Film Studio need some Floor Panels, too. They could use the Glass Plates from Glass Bridges in China and such, use them to protect the Display under their Feet. They are sturdy enough to withstand some scratches and weight.

    I'd like to see an animated Trek series done un UE5 using metahuman characters. If people accept Lower Decks and Prodigy. They'll accept an entirely UE5-driven show. And there's something to be said about all elements existing in virtual space. No real limit on how many sets can be built, how many extras need to be in a scene, no need to get permission to film on location. and no worries about storing everything when production is done. For the first time, episodes of a Star Trek series could literally take place all over the Federation, not just on one ship or starbase.
    I'd like to see a show that follows a close-knit group of Starfleet Academy graduates throughout their careers on diverse assignments, starting as ensigns. You don't make them the center of attention. the assignment and events that it involves is the centerpoint of the story. They are a member of the team/crew, but not necessarily the heroes.
    Make this thing web-based with its own playlist filter and one could watch the series as a whole, bouncing from element to element just like in a production where multiple character arcs are going on, or choose to follow just one assignment and it would play like its own series unto itself.

      i still think its hilarious that in season 2, someone designed the set of that room that the torpedo hit. someone spent hours of their life making that control panel with the handle. someone made the door with the glass screen on it. someone made all that. for them to film a scene were a character sacrifices themselves to pull a handle that literally half a foot on the other side of the "blast door", that they could have literally stood on the other side of the door, leant in, pulled the handle and leant back out of the room. instead the torpedo blows up a few meters away from this windowed blast door and even though it makes a giant hole in the ship pike is able to just stand there and stare at the explosion. For some reason as well the only doorway to that room on the ship is a turbolift too.. Its just 100% nonsense. all that time and effort to make the set and thats the garbage they shot in it, and then likely burnt the set a week later.

    • @hughJ
      @hughJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ge2719 They should just make all the ship hulls out of the material they use for the blast doors. It's an interesting thought though -- every time there's a big battle somewhere, all that should be left of the ships would be a bunch of blast doors floating in space.
