You can thank US Music Corporation (owner of Washburn) for that. They do nothing better than kill guitar manufacturers. Worst guitar I ever tried in a store was a Washburn (one of those stupid Dime models with the graphics the body and wrap-around bridges). I've played $100CAD Squiers that were better, and cost 1/8 as much. As soon as they bought Parker, it went in the same direction. Because of the niche target-market, that killed it even more quickly. Just look at those ridiculous singlecut models they released. They literally did away with *everything* that made Parker special. The only thing they kept was the neck joint, and because there's no composite on it, it's now far too weak.
Try and get one of the original Fly Deluxe. I think they're referred to as 'pre-refined'. Company was sold and they started messing with them. I got one shortly after they came on the market. Had to sell it, but bought another a few years ago. This one ain't going nowhere.
I really dig AB and his Parker DFAB842 MaxxFly but my God those things started at just south of $11,000 and I don't know any musicians that can part with that much cheese for an axe in one sitting. Although I am sure they are out there somewhere.
"they" dont want you buying high-end gear. its a club, just like classical music with its million dollar violins and 250K$ trumpets - and youre not in it. you are allowed, however, to plink around on your ipad with the apps that make "doink doink doink" sounds. or Belew's FLUX app that randomly interrupts and reformats existing music into nonsensical gibberish, apparently purely for the sake of novelty.
@@dumpygoodness4086 - I've noticed a lot of that lately - snippets of older PG RR episodes that really don't tell the whole story. Algorithm bending genius, or something more sinister? 🤔😆
when the endorsee survives the company and still plays the instrument, it must be good. miss my nitefly. who owns the rights? going out to win the lottery right now.
He said he uses the Variax models in the studio. On my Fijigen Variax 700 It took me about an hour to fill the Custom 1 & Custom 2 positions on that rotary switch with all my instruments and tunings in the Line 6 Workbench software, but his Parker doesn't seem to have the CAT5 jack, unless it's under the back cover. I'm fascinated by this.

his work with Talking Heads (specifically - the Remain in Light Album) - some of the best high gain guitar playing ever!
Just a damn shame you can’t get that guitar anymore, it was a fantastic instrument. Ken Parker was way ahead of his time.

ADRIAN BELEW = GENIUS
Love this guy! Raw talent!
It’s a shame Parker went away - happy to have a Parker Nitefly in my Arsenal.
This guy is the cool grandpa that we all wish we had
Just dropped 4k on a used 1998 p-fly classic and I regret it for precisely zero seconds.
Love this guy.
All hail the Twang Bar King!
I still want a Parker!
I'm not used to people standing this close to each other anymore.
t r u e…
Lame
Always wanted a Fly.
A Parker guitar is on my bucket list of guitars that I want.

I'd buy that guitar !!♡!!
It's almost irresistible.
They were about $10,000 new.
@@revolutionday1that was not the standard price then, but Ken Parker said it cost $10k to produce. This one of course is a highly customized one-off.
The twang bar king for king crimson!
Anybody ever tried that app? Just wondering.
Genius 👆🏻 Why I’m doing a solo-album by myself. Most fun & reaction ever.
WANT!!!

How old is this? The company was sold.
"Long ago and far away, in a different age. When I was a young guy."
Seriously. Also there doesn’t seem to be any Covid precautions.
5 years ago? th-cam.com/video/7EmDO5FXric/w-d-xo.html

Good luck, they're stupid-expensive.

B from his Power Trio's "e" album
Wait...this is wayyyyyy older than 3 weeks. What's going on?
No Android version?!
I was just listening to "piper"
Well this app sounds perfect for Tripping. Should have called it Trip-Sitter.

I desperately need this guitar, it is a need that transcends all things biological and defies logical human reasoning.

Wow...
Why don't you throw it away?

He uses a Roland cable out and splits everything on the floor
This company is long gone lmao, this is ancient 😂😂😂

that dude is in adrians space like a fruit
What? Like a raspberry?
Its better when he talks about himself and does not play.
Too close! Haven't heard of COVID? Lol
Was this a re-posted video from before Covid?
I'm not sure, but I did think the same.
this was an old rig rundown before the virus even existed

I don't care for this guy, or his playing, but I love me some Parker guitars.
