I tested the NYX sticks in Ulta last night and I was really surprised how pale the palest one is, esp because I'm SUPER pale and often can't find shades pale enough! I didn't buy them though I might try the pink eventually. What I did get from the drugstore recently that I think is pretty good for very light coverage/ barely there skin tint (that is a dupe of the Chanel one with the beads in a gel) is Covergirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence. It has the same look as Chanel and I think it performs similarly, though it is truly very faint coverage. It's good for winter for me but would probably slide off immediately in summer.
I've had my eye on the Covergirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector, but I haven't picked it up yet. I don't need anymore foundations or skin tints, but I'm always curious as to what's out there. I'm glad that drugstore brands are finally making shades that are pale enough. I'm not as pale as I used to be, but my oldest kid is super fair. There aren't many drugstore brands that have shades light enough in concealer or foundation. Thanks for watching today.
In a frenzy of annoyance and a few swear words, I decluttered the Elf CC Cream in the black tube today! I'm not sure I'll be running to get this new one given the black one was so 😬for me. I've used the Elf eye brightener, but it's become harder for me to find. I'm currently using the pink shade of the Maybelline Eraser concealer and find it wears well through the day.
I haven't see the Maybelline Eraser in pink at my local stores. Everything is always picked over, and the gondolas are empty. I need to keep an eye out for it, or put it in my next Ulta Order. The black tube of CC Cream from elf didn't work for me because it was too heavy. Too much coverage, and it emphasized every imperfection on my skin. This one is better, but it's still not the best "foundation" in my collection. Don't run out an pick this new one up. It's better than the black tube for me, but it's still not the best I have.
I’m glad to see you!!! so sorry u still feeling bad I thought your surgery was making you better 😞😞😞sending lots of love and prayers 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💚💚💚💚💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🪴🪴🪴
I'm glad to be back. I think I over did it after my surgery, and aggravated the situation. I was having pain with every breath for about a week. It was agonizing. I'm glad to be able to breathe freely yesterday and today. I still have some abdominal pain, but it's getting better. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.
My husband had pneumonia over the holidays. He is on the mend. I need medium to full coverage. I hadn't payed much mind to it. I do have 3 new to me primers from them to try. Honestly just haven't been doing much makeup with hubby sick. I keep buying makeup! Lol. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
I have been sick with RSV, I’ve been exhausted ! I did wear the new CC cream a few times and reviewed it and like it, I do own better ones but I did enjoy this one. Catrice has a very nice under eye corrector and so does Pixie. Happy New Year, hoping for a healthier and 🎉
I hope you feel better soon. This time of year is when everyone gets sick. My oldest is down with the flu, and can hardly get out of bed. I hope the rest of us don't end up getting it. I do like the way this CC Cream wore, but I've only tried it once. I still need to keep trying it to see what my long term thoughts are. It might end up going the same way as the one in the black tube. It's good, but may not be as good as what I already have in my collection.
@@mztango I got the Covid and flu vaccine in October. I didn't have the RSV one recommended to me by my doctor. I should ask. Thanks for bringing it up.
The ELF CC cream looks very nice on you...I may need to try some. I don't have much luck with NYX in general. Love the ELF eye brightener...have you tried that? It is very emollient. Do you still like Beauty Pie under eye? Glad you are feeling better....Happy New Year! Love your content mix of high end and drugstore. I do both. 😊
My favorite under eye corrector is still the beauty pie, but I picked up a Bobbi Brown corrector stick recently that I'm trying. I like it a lot, but it's more peach than the BP one. I like the way this one in pink worked, but I'm not sure I'm sold on the Concealer. I'll have to keep trying it. I like the elf, but I'm not ready to recommend it yet. It wore pretty well, but I've only worn it the once. I need to keep trying it. Thanks so much for watching today!
Hi Rebecca. Feliz Ano Nuevo!. Glad to see you back. My husband wants you to know that he tried the shampoo you always recommend (Cantu) & he really likes it for his long, wavy hair. 😊
Feliz año nuevo. Thanks for watching today. I'm glad that your husband is enjoying the shampoo from Cantu. I just started trying the Maui Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. I love the scent and the additional moisture it adds to my regular wash routine. I use the Curl Quench version in the orange bottle. I'm trying different curl products this year.
Oh good! Keep us posted if you like them or not. Sorry, I don't know how to place the squiggle(enyay) above the N. I know it's supposed to be there. Lol😂😂
I tried the corrector, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I don't use it with a stick conclear as well though. I'm also testing out the Moira correctors, and they are good so far too!
I haven't tried the correctors from Moira. I'll have to put that on my list of things to try the next time I make a Moira order. I think the corrector will work better for me than the concealer. I'll have to keep trying them. Thanks so much for watching today!
@thelipstickgal of course! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. Another favorite drugstore corrector is the Neutrogena one. An oldie but goodie. My all-time favorite is the new Huda Beauty corrector that came out this year, but mine leaks even standing up. I have no idea how that's even possible that it keeps doing it 😂
I am always amazed at how terrific pink and peach work on dark circles. I often don’t need a concealer on top. I did an elf haul from their site. One lip oil. Two O Face lipsticks. A liquid blush. The Glow sunscreen. The undereye brightener that looks like YSL Touché Eclat. And the retinol serum. We shall see! I’m not one for packing on under my eye. I’m out of love with the Kosas Concealer because I have to pile on powder. I agree that the Concealer may be too light, or it may be your lighting, but I can see almost white cast in the deepest part of your undereye area. Sorry. 😢
Yes, the concealer is too light. I was going based on swatches on the NYX website. It looked similar to shades I regularly wear, but in person it's way too light. It's too much! I like the way the pink covered my under eyes. I'll probably return the concealer and keep the corrector. The next neutral shade is going to be too dark. That's ok, I'm up to my eyeballs in concealer right now. I haven't tried the new liquid blush or the Glow Sunscreen. I keep thinking about the under eye brightener that comes in pen form, but it's probably going to be too light in coverage for me. I've never picked up one of the Kosas concealers because all the light shades were too yellow. I know they're coming out with more cool leaning shades, but I'm pretty happy with what I already have. I don't think I'll need it. I'm also wanting to find a hydrating, but not too emollient concealer that needs minimal setting. I still haven't found one yet, but I'm still on the search. Thanks for watching today, and good luck with your elf haul!

I tried the Elf CC back when it came out, and OH BOY, it was way too much for me as well. I was thinking it was like a tinted moisturizer - as that tends to be all the light coverage I need and want. This one seems so much nicer but worry that it is too high coverage. Looks great on you, though. Oh, and not like I need more lip oil (😂), but do you like the Elf more than the Milani? I also wanted to tell you that I got the bright red shade of the YSL candy glaze. I did get a few others as well and I think I need the electric red as they are absolutely gorgeous. Did you end up ordering any?
I haven't ordered the red candy glaze yet. I have so many red lipsticks, I can't justify it. I've also added over 15 luxury lipsticks to my collection in the past 6 weeks. I'm working on trying a lot of lip formulas so I can do a luxury lipstick video. Right now, I'm up to my eyebrows in stupidly expensive lipsticks. I'm feeling very guilty in picking so many up that the same time. I'm worried that I won't get around to using them all. As for the CC Cream, I've only worn it the once, and I like the way it wore. I didn't apply as much as I would need to achieve full coverage, but I like the way my skin turned out. It was medium coverage in my opinion. I'm sure I could get full coverage from it, but . . . I don't love a full coverage foundation for every day. I don't think I'm ready to recommend it yet, but I don't instantly hate it. I feel like the component feel more luxe in the elf lip oil than the Milani one. I LOVE the doefoot on the elf lip oil. It's very cushy and has some lovely velvet on it. It reminds me of the Clarins applicator. Not exactly, but it's the best of the drugstore lip oil applicators. I feel like the formulas between the elf and the Milani are similar. They're a gloss/oil hybrid and have a nice cushy feel on the lips. I feel like the Milani one might last a bit longer on the lips, but I really appreciate that the elf one has so much product for $8. The price per ounce on other drugstore lip oils make them more expensive. I'll keep purchasing the Milani lip oils. I don't know if I'll ever finish this one, there's so much in it. :)
