- Another day at the family print shop. Using the Konica Minolta C3070 to print everything. There is a good example of how good the Konica registration is. Its good. Cutting and trimming performed on the Challenge 305 paper guillotine. Morgana Digifold scored and folded the brochures. Thanks for watching.

I used to use an Epson ET-2550 th-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.

Your channel is so cool! I want to make my own magazines and I was wondering how works all of this.
There are many different machines that can accomplish this. I would suggest you find an online or local printer to start printing your magazine. Once established you can invest in your own machine.
@@justaprinter Thank you! I was wondering what Digital Printer is the cheapest to print with commercial quality, and I don't understand why Digital Printers print with photo quality and my home laser colo printer (HP M254dw) don't if both use toner cartridges.
@@AlbertVlogs It could be settings in the software RIP, or difference in the hardware such as lasers. Toner is just what gets transferred to the paper, how it gets there is different.

I love your videos, I am definitely a fan. I do have a question I am a business owner myself I've been in the web services field for over the last past 10 years. My company deals with graphic design all the way up to a printing business cards but for the last past couple years and we have been outsourcing all of our printing to a third-party and we have finally gotten to the point where we wanted to do our own printing in-house. I wanted to see if you had any good recommendations for a small business like myself as starter printer for printing business cards and small batch orders and other items. Something that was affordable but you could think that would do perfectly for the job. -kailkail Designs Founder
A c6500 would be a good start. Or a newer c1070 would be great.

I like Konica, but just about any machine would get you started.

I consider both a magazine and newsletter the same thing. You should definitely try it. Just put your blogs into print form. You could possibly expand your readers to people who don't follow blogs online.

There are several types of ink. I only have presses that use toner.
What printer type would you recommend for printing flyers? Lasers or inkjet
It really depends on the customer. Typically a lighter text weight is good for flyers.
Could you recommend a decent starting printer for high quality single page flyers and business cards to start? Let's say under 1200 used if that's reasonable.
The smallest press I can recommend is a Konica C6500. I am sure there are smaller cheaper machines but I don't have experience with them. Konica and Ricoh office copiers are nice.
@@justaprinter thanks for the response. A little out of my budget but I can save for that. They look like $3000-4000 used. Should I worry about print meter or are they pretty reliable and serviceable? Some I see are 2-5 million on the meter used.

What would be a good home printer for small printing business starting up.
Great question. The only machines I know are the c6500 and 1070 like I currently have. Other people have mentioned that the konica office copiers are good as well as ricoh. I would find a local dealer and see some test prints they make. They might have a used machine to sell to you.
Is this the same paper you would use for a calendar ?
Depends what my customer is looking for. I typically recommend an uncoated sheet for calendars so you can easily write on them.

What is the name of the glossy thin paper used in magazines? Where can I buy it online?
Either a 70 or 80lb gloss text. Not sure where to buy online. There is shortage on 80lb gloss too.

No, it will get close but the lead edge will always have a non-image area.
