"a giant rage monster" LOL accurate description a heart so fierce and broken was such a big disappointment for me :( i didn't like lia mara much because she was so indecisive and kept going back and forth. also i felt so bad for rhen!!! he basically lost everything he achieved in the first book i'm super excited for night of the dragon though!!! and kingdom of back sounds right up my alley

Ember Queen seems so intriguing especially with the tension and drama it has. I think it won't a dull moment. So I'm adding it to my TBR 😊🙌 Elliot i really like your positive energy on here too. I feel like you would really enjoy reading Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) since you mentioned you like reading about people that have been unfairly treated by the world. Also Heaven's Official Blessing by the same author is also incredibly heart-wrenching for the same reasons.
A book that I’m almost positive you’d love is The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi! It’s translated from Japanese, and it’s basically a story for all animal lovers out there and it really takes a nuanced approaches to the domestication of wild animals and at which point we should understand that we can’t impart human emotions to them. The second half of the story comes out translated this year so you wouldn’t have to wait super long (or you could just watch the anime).
I'm so IN LOVE with the owlcrate editions of the Crown of Feathers series. The Heart of Flames is All my favorite color! 😍😍 Also, I think Kitsune is pronounced without the e. I could be completely wrong because I'm solely basing that on the show Inuyasha. One of the characters is Kitsune and they never pronounced the e. 🤷♀️😬

I finally picked up the first book in the Ash Princess series and I am excited to read it. It seems really good, maybe I'm morbid though LOL I still want to pick up All the STars and Teeth, I heard someone say it reminded them of grown up Moana HAHA and I'm kind of here for that.I loved Crown of Feathers and really want to pick up Heart of Flames, I also really loved that edition with the sprayed edged :) I almost bought the owl crate edition the other day but I'm on the fence about ordering it lol.
If you want a good revenge story I recommend "Best Served Cold" by Joe Abercrombie ( it's also loosely based on "The Count of Monte Cristo" , I believe. )
Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books and I did not like Scavenge the Stars... I think if you don't have any experience with Count of Monte Cristo you're more likely to enjoy it. But you're right about how the revenge was not personal the way it was in the original, and in general I didn't think Scavenge the Stars really followed the same themes in an effective way.
Hey Elliot, have you heard of Viscera by Gabrielle Squalia, it’s a stand-alone adult fantasy/horror novel. I’m just mentioning it because I thought you mentioned in a video how it’s hard to find adult fantasy stand-alones and Viscera was one that I found incredibly weird and addicting.

I really enjoyed Woven in Moonlight. The magic was very fun and unique, and I enjoyed learning more about Bolivian politics and culture.

You should definitely read the wolf of oren-yaro by ks villoso! It's a Phillipino inspired fantasy novel and it was really good
