Switchblade makes a great point when he says he doesn't care about old wrestling matches. If all you do is reminisce about the past, you become stagnant and can't grow as a person. It's like wrestling fans who do nothing but watch 20+ year old matches and complain about how wrestling isn't as good as it was back in the day. Who cares about what happened in the past? But i don't think we should not care about the past, the AJPW in the 90's is a perfect example, i love those matches and i'm just 22. Okada's first reign ended pretty quickly too. Tanahashi was the bigger star at that time and they couldn't have Okada have a long reign without making it a slow, well mapped out and believable transition.
Now I don't think it'll be the same kind of push for White but in the same vein they'll have White lose right now and build him back up to win the title sometime in the future. Besides MSG is a big deal for them and it's natural that they'd want their top star to leave as champion and close out the show.

But during okada's first reign, he held ot for over 100 days and had 2 successful defenses before dropping it, so we could see the upset of Jay retaining or Jay just might be the transition champ since they were planning on okada winning the title at MSG since Kenny winning it at dominion last year

I don't think they need new designs but they definitely have to take better care of them or rebuild it like the IC title (still surprised Naito hasn't smashed it yet) I remember during Ospreay's promo the side plate on the Never Title was hanging off.

Raymund Turner he is an great in ring psychologist and underrated in the sense that he does not do flippy floppy shit , he is an great story teller.
