This car is unbelievably beautiful.....
Looking at this in 2019.. still absolutely gorgeous and contemporary looking. The designers outdid themselves, shame on Cadillac for not putting this into production.
4-5 years later and the car is still as beautiful as it was when I first saw it.
now its 2021 and if you wouldn't tell me I would say its from 2016

@@driverjamescopeland could not more expensive than a CTS-V or CTS-Sport. I think the problem is Chevrolet with the Corvette that it would cut into its sale numbers. I wish they would have given all the spec on the engine and drivetrain, that possibly out perform the Corvette. Just guessing of coarse.,
Frank W - nothing that big and heavy could outperform the Corvette... even with a supercharged version of their prototype V16.
Frank W - also, it could DEFINITELY be more expensive than any CTS class. This would be a coachbuilt class of vehicle... probably well north of $200,000 Bentley territory.
@@driverjamescopeland corvette is slightly heavier. CTS-Sport could probably do it. Even CT-6 Sport. These vehicle come with summer only tires and being rear wheel drive. Clearly a performance vehicle.
Sexiest looking Cadillac in years. Would make an impressive modern interpretation of an Eldorado.

The CTS-V is and has looked sexy for a long time, especially the wagon. the new escalade looks nice as well.
I for one like the new 2014-15 models. Especially the way they have the LED lights one the front.

Glen Daly Cadillacs had them too, the Eldorado for example.... plenty of other manufacturers used them as well, some even on coupes.

@@TCsHouse they used to be better than Rolls Royce back in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Then GM started to cost cut everything and we ended up with cars like the Cimmaron and SRX.

True, there was a video I just watched on the 1930 Cadillac V16 and that engine was smooth even by modern standards. From what I understand Cadillac was considered a cut above Rolls Royce at that time. Going forward many years I also consider the 1967 Eldorado one of the classiest and most beautiful cars ever made. Unfortunately they lost their way in the 70’s and 80’s, although to be honest my mom had a 1987 Sedan De Ville growing up and that was a great car. We had it for over 10 years and put over 200,000 miles on it. It just looked to similar to other GM’s like Oldsmobiles and Buicks

Mr. Welburn is a hero in many ways. His design language, as well as his historical presence at GM has helped save the company. This design in particular should have been given a short run similar to the CTS coupe and wagon. the ElMiraj is the Eldorado we need from this generation, and the halo car Cadillac has been promising since the days of the Sixteen - now almost 2 decades ago. Somebody's got to spend the money, make the investment and the buyers will come.
Please make it. I promise to buy one.

***** You can't judge the cars handling by the looks of it! Besides this , if made, would not compete with the likes of the RS5 but the Mercedes S coupe and the BMW 6 series. That being said the car, like you said, isn't even in production form so I can not say whether or not it will be a good contender against the european cars. :)

***** honestly i love european cars.... my favourite brands are italian brands. however the cadillac and american cars have really stepped their game up. not so much to top euroean but they can certainly match the handling ability and performance. however when it comes to doing that with all new technology.... wellll lets just say id take a european car over and american car. but technology doesn't mean anything in terms of driving experience. just remember the last gen vette had leaf springs and handled well

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful modern vehicle designs, right behind the cadillac sixteen of course. the only flaw with the sixteen was the wheels, wasn't a big fan. gotta love that 1000 hp n/a engine though. they're both art masterpieces.

+AnarchistMetalhead as much as i love the contemporary styling of this interior, the traditional and simple yet ultra elegant interior found in the sixteen is actually perfect for my taste, it's timeless. they both have some of the best interiors i have ever seen, right on par with their respective years.

They would have had arguably the most gorgeous coupe and sedan on the market. In addition to the only production four door convertible in the world. If they could have just put it into limited production it would have legitimately changed the world's view and opinion on the entire brand. For that matter, it could have potentially changed the world's opinion on GM and the American automotive industry as a whole!

Almost 10 years later this thing is gorgeous inside and out. I drive a 2018 BMW right now but if Cadillacs looked more like this I would consider switching.

Amazing how Cadillac has the ability to build a car as long as an aircraft carrier like they always have, but they've figured out in recent years how to make it look sporty.
For the coupe: do the small rear doors, opening suicide style in conjunction with the front half. a 60/40 split awd would be nice. needs a modest hood ornament...

i agree the competition is killing them and their cts's arent doing as well as they did when they were first were introduced GM has got to step up their game so this is why they came out with this type of model to entice loyal gm owners to buy these high end cars also it wil attract many other buyers as well if this goes into production which i am sure it will.

Ive always been partial to Cadillac's designs, no other car seems to have the same presence and elegance. This car though, the most beautiful I have ever seen of any car in its class, absolutely stunning. Just breathtakingly radiant.

I can clearly say this is the best interior in the world. The whole body is so elegance that Mercedes would envy.
It's 2022 and I still check this car out. It is simply gorgeous, better than a Bentley, Maybach or any other high end Luxo-hotrod. I've been waiting for this car since 2013. GM is still "no dice".

Seven years later and Cadillac still hasn't grown a set of balls, maybe a couple of more billions of tax payer dollars ? If I were this great designer I'd transfer to a company with taste. How many people have to say they would sell their first born before a company gets the idea. We already have luxury Toyotas and crossovers, Try to be the standard again, instead of being a sheep follower. If life was somewhat fair, this guy would be the CEO.

Nobody can do a luxury sports coupe like Cadillac and yet they don’t make one anymore. For the prices that they charge for those awful SUVs, they could easily make a niche coupe and keep the production numbers low on purpose, because there are enough of us out here who would buy something just like this car here and here it is nine years later, and that car is still gorgeous.

This may be the prettiest car I have ever seen. Also, the gentleman that Leno is speaking with is one of the smoothest communicators I have ever come across. I'm 51, but when I grow up, I want to be able to interact with people like that guy. Soooooo smooooooooooth.
