Same here! Known issue with these bad boys. Pull the fuse from the fuse box under the hood on the driver side; it’s a 10amp fuse closest to you if you are in front of the vehicle. This resolves the issue BUT you won’t have a horn unless you remove and place it back in at every trip. Solution: use a fuse tap, and relay it to a toggle switch to the interior of the vehicle. For this purchase a toggle switch if your choice, 12V wire and a fuse tap. Solution for under $20!
consider yourself lucky. I have a montero and when it gets cold, the horn sticks and does this, but it doesn't do it when I put the keys in. It gladly does it without them. preferably at 3am to make sure all my neighbors want me dead.
Mine just went off this morning. Didn’t matter if key was in or out, turned on or turned off. Just blaring non stop until I pulled the battery cable. I hear that the pad inside the actual horn switch on the air bag/steering wheel is usually the problem but I won’t be replacing the whole air bag etc. Pulling the horn relay and forgetting about it.
I have a 2001 montero and mine started doing this January 2022. My horn went off on a day were it was freezing without having to start the darn car. Oddly enough it would only do it at night mainly. Now it’s just sitting there. I’m exhausted.
My 2001 starts blaring by itself in cold weather. It blares even if the key isn't in the ignition and I have to disconnect the battery or the horn/ac fuse to get it to stop.

The airbag expands due to the cold so it triggers the horn. get a hair dryer to blow it. Worked for me
To blow where??

The FIX is to remove and repair the improper electrical contact, it is in the horn switch behind the airbag, on the steering wheel
mine just started doing it i have montero 2001. thanks for this vid very helpful

Demonte le fusible puis demonte le volant les deux lamelles de contact sont collé... Grrrrrrrr respectueusement
Thank you👍👍👍
On a 2002 Pajero iO, horn fuse is No.17.
Maybe it’s crying out for a wash😀
That it was!;)
It is much easier to remove the "HORN" and "HORN THEFT ALARM" relays located in the fuse box next to the battery. This will accomplish the same thing.
how do you identify this part?
I need to get mine inspected but if I put the fuse in it just stays on constantly. Really annoying
I have the same problem how did you fix it
Pajero 2003 exceed
The fuse is under the hood.near the battery.
Did you find a fix?
