In my case, I had a leaking battery covering the metal pads. I ended up taking appart the thermostat to clean it with white vinegar. The netatmo design is very simple in the end, it was quite easy. Thanks for the tutorial, I was able to disassemble it without breaking it.
Hi, thanks for sharing the video. My parent's thermostat batteries leaked over the summer (bought it in the summer in a sale) and the bottom button doesnt work. I opened it up, check if the leak got onto the motherboard and found nothing. So I cleaned the battery box with a vinegar and I'm gonna bring it to the store to get a replacement.
If you have a problem of the thermostat not powering up after a battery change, it could be the battery bay not having a good contact with the PCB. This can happen when you remove the thermostat from the wall/stand and you yank it out too hard. The internal plastic clips are simply too weak to support the electronic board even when you use normal force. So the thermostat comes apart a bit, but it is not clearly visible from the outside. You need to dive in and clip everything back together. I ended up using two supporting screws which hold the PCB properly in place.
thanks. In my case it was a faulty unit, luckily it was under warranty and I have got it replaced after a long process. However I have to say their customer service is getting better. I am in UK
Excellent vid, cheers Tony! I'm looking for a replacement for one those little yellow tactile switches, don't suppose you know what they're called so I can Google a replacement more effectively. Thanks again for vid
They are called smd pushbuttons, you can find plenty on Chinese sites like dx or banggood. Like www.dx.com/p/250pcs-push-button-switch-smd-dip-assortment-kit-with-box-2081745#.XQ5PZRbOOaM
Thx for your video, my screen got frozen ( I guess due to batteries empty) and them when I put new ones, seems not to work, but works via APP. Any advise how to remove the screen and reinstall it to see if that push it to work normally? I spoken to Netatmo and they asked me 44eur + shipping to fix it!
ah where is my long reply I put here?.. well, if you got warranty still try contacting netatmo first. I do not know where to get an exact display, sorry. Might worth checking the ribbon cable for damage or bad connection. My advise would be do not bother. I personally use app all the time so I don't even need a screen on that device. thanks
Thanks for sharing the video. Does somebody know how to fix, that the display text doesn't rotate when rotating the device? And there is an increased power consumption. The batteries seem to last only some days.
I had the same issue. Took the device apart and couldn't see any obvious faults. I've given up and bought a tado thermostat instead as these are cheaper.
161/5000 Hi I have run out of the thermostat as in the video. Marking grades but doing nothing. I change the batteries and do nothing. Do you know what can happen to you?
I tried everything I know but nothing worked for me so eventually after a long 15 days (without automated heating over winter) I finally managed to get a replacement from Netatmo
Hi Tony! Thanks for your video... I'm having the same issue: thermostat started to "play" with temperature in strange ways. It suddenly increases of 10 degrees or suddenly decreases. The "true temperature" function in the app doesn't fix the problem. I also had battery leak and maybe something has been damaged; anyway I can't find any visible damage on the circuit. Do you know where could be the temperature sensor? Thank you!
@@fsudrich Hi! Unfortunately not... I contacted Netatmo Customer service and I arranged a "repair" at the cost of 44 € (but I have to pay for shipping my thermostat to France). I've done that and the sent me a (probably) complete with all accessories refurbished thermostat.
Good. My thermostat stops turning the screen and the batteries run out within a week. I have noticed that when I remove the batteries the screen stays on. what can it be?

Hola, me puedes indicar dónde compraste la nueva pantalla. Gracias
Thank you for this tutorial

Bonjour Félix, où avez-vous acheté l'écran LCD seul, svp ? Merci.

I did the same. They replaced my equipment. Great support of netatmo.

Do you know how to disassemble Netatmo valve ?
You need to pull up the top inner cover. It has three side holes on the edge. Lift each one with a screwdriver several times.
