if only roddick could volley as well as mark, i feel like he'd have beaten fed a few more times putting pressure on his return. cuz who's gonna consistently hit a passing shot off 140mph? but fed just blocked it back and once the rally started fed far outclassed roddick.

Fun fact: philipousis had knee problems and injuries coming into this tournament and therefore he wasnt at his prime or anywhere near his best. He had multiple knee surgeries following this tournament. If he was at his best here he would have probably won this final or at the very least the match would have been much more competitive.

Weak era is the era of Nadal and Djokovic when fed is old and the courts are super slow and players are ultra defensive baseliners and no one to challenge them. Had Novak and Rafa played in the era of ultra attacking players like pete, Boris, lendl etc with super fast courts and wooden rackets they wouldn't have won a single point, let alone a game. Lol 😂

@Rebeca Linares Mark was a much bigger talent than Raonic for sure, and had the intangibles that Kevin Anderson (for whatever reason) lacks. Unfortunately, Philippoussis was much more mentally fragile than either Anderson or Raonic -- Mark with either player's determination & work ethic would have already won several Slams (3-5 range seems reasonable).
