Steven Cole at Amarillo Task Force Games borrowed game this to create Star Fleet Battles, exactly bloody the same thing spliced with Star Trek - loved it to pieces
"WS&IM" was *one* Official Bicentennial Wargame: "1776" also bore those banners. This game is so "burned into my skull" that, although I own most of the "Flying Colors" games, I can't really get into them ... because, if I'm going to be doing fighting sail era combat, I'd probably rather play Wooden Ships!!! This is the only game for which I won a tournament, way back in the misty past known as "the eighties".
I never saw that on 1776 but the one I have is from 1974. That is another great classic game. I have also have Flying Colors and still trying to get into it. I think I am feeling the same way you do Stiglr, Wooden ships is sitting right next to it, I would rather grab that instead. Congrats on the win in the eighties, I was selling off my collection back then. :)
Absolute classic, Thank you for the memories.
My pleasure! it is a great game and, for me a reminder of good times in my youth. Thanks for watching.
Oh man! I remember this is one of the games I had circled in my Avalon Hills catalog!
It was one of my favorite, but I had to play a lot of solitaire game when I owned my first copy in the late 70's. Thanks for watching.
nice job. Only played this the one time. Had a lot of fun.
Thanks for watching.

No one is getting mine.😀😀😀
I agree with you Stuart, mine is staying here.
I got somebodies, and it's in near new condition too. Whoever sold it to me took very good care of it.
