Thank you for posting. Grew up fishing from Great Bay Marina (We used to call it Nunsies), seven bridges road and Barnegat Light in the 60's and 70's. Bought my own boat in 2000 and have fished Great Bay and the ocean going out of Little Egg Inlet. Nothing like being on the water...
Recently bought a house on mystic island and just started boating these waters. This video is great to know the history of the area. Grew up in north jersey and have been going to the jersey shore my whole life. Im glad I have a place of my own the wife and I can get away to on the weekends. Thank you for making this video.
I wonder, since this is an odd name, did someone who wrote a certain book where the action takes place between the shore towns of West Egg and East Egg was inspired by the name of this New Jersey town and harbor? That, of course, would be Scott Fitzgerald, and the title of the book is The Great Gatsby.
The earlier videos up to the coast guard station were shot with the Inspire. Some of the later footage of the coast guard station and after with the Mavic.

Thanks for the memories this great video brought back. From 1966-2005 I explored these waters with great affection. The best of times.

This is awesome. I love the dig at the NJ politicians. It's embarrassing who NJ elects and sends to Washington to represent us.
Can you still drive on that peninsula? I don’t see any tracks on GoogleMaps.
When this was filmed you could not drive on the southern end of LBI. I don't know about now.
